WASHINGTON, Feb 20 (Reuters) - The U.S. will announce a major package of sanctions against Russia on Friday over the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny and the two-year Ukraine war, President Joe Biden said on Tuesday. Biden, speaking to reporters as he departed on a trip to California, did not give details but said he would provide more information about the package on Friday. The package will "hold Russia accountable for what happened to Mr. Navalny" and for its actions over the course of the war in Ukraine, White House national security spokesperson John Kirby said, without providing details on the sanctions measures. Speaking to reporters on a conference call, Kirby said the United States is pressing Russia for "complete transparency" on how Navalny died last Friday at an Arctic penal colony. The prison service said at the time that Navalny fell unconscious after a walk and died. Biden has blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin. The United States already has issued a wide array of sanctions related to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Agree. And dems and RINOs in congress are pushing legislation linking Ukraine money to Biden border shenanigans.

"One of the Indian refineries and ports accepting Russian crude is in Vadinar, and run by a company called Nayara Energy, which is 49.1% -owned by Russian state oil giant Rosneft. The CREA estimated that the US imported $63 million worth of oil products refined in Vadinar in 2023, and that about half the crude used in the plant was Russian. All of which is entirely above board."In spite of all the heated -- and often stupid -- arguments on FR threads, this much is certain. The sanctions regime in the EU is well over a dozen now, and nothing seems to do much more than penalize the EU member states. As to the US sanctions, more and more trade is now being conducted in currency other than the USD and through avenues not the SWIFT system and BIC. Who's losing business and/or paying more? Surprise! Trump wanted to make "deals." Democrats and RINOs and the EU hawks want to make world war by proxy, over a small and sad war between two non-NATO nations.
Small note: all the above hotlinks are to mainstream media.
Fire away, senile Joe’s sanctions are strengthening Russia every day and harming the West ….talk about shooting yourselves in the foot! … case in point- no more Swift for Russia….Russia bypasses Swift, organizes Brics, others for their own global system… two,” don’t buy Vlad’s energy or commodities”, Vlad forbids his vast resources sold to the West- prices go vertical for the West, Vlad takes in more cash….the West pays much more for commodities and energy bankrupting Western companies….
Vlad holds all the cards, senile Joe a corrupted, senile clown harming America at every turn.
Yes, I forgot my /rhet tag!
Sounds a lot like
We weren’t imposing “major” restrictions before?

Navalny was a CIA asset.
So in acting without the bother of an investigation or evidence, they are unintentionally emphasizing that they don't care what the facts are - which implies they know the facts would not be in their favor.
What the 0’Biden Regime is really upset about is that they lost one of their big CIA assets that they were funding to try to overthrow Putin so that a Globalist puppet can be installed in the Kremlin.
It saddens me that you and I seem to be the only ones who are aware of that.
So, the US poisoned Navalny and blamed it on Moscow to embolden their coup goals.
Figures.
Yep. I’ve seen some “avgeek” videos of people who found ways to fly to Russia from Europe on the last commercial flight from from Europe. For the most part, Russia appears normal, subways are clean and run on time, airport is normal, etc. Only major issues are you need to use cash and they have their own version of McDonalds, etc.
Worth a watch

Saint Nalvany, the infallible.
Brought to you by, CISA and CIA.
Are we sanctioning the Ukes over the murder of innocent Ameeican citizen, Gonzalo Lira, while in custody? Sanctions? Putin must love that. The sanctions, to date, have done nothing but strengthen Russia and weaken the West. I’m sure Putin’s reaction to hearing this is, Great! Let’s the good times roll!
“This time the sanctions are really going to do something!”
“An awesome troll by Maria Zakhorova...”
The QUALITY of the people in Russia’s government is FAR BETTER than anything we’ve had since Reagan.
