With 300 sunshine days a year, low taxes and safe streets, it's little wonder Californians are flocking to the so-called 'Beverly Hills of Arizona'.
Sitting between Phoenix and Scotsdale, Paradise Valley is Arizona's wealthiest municipality, with the average home costing an eye-watering $2.87 million.
The affluent area has already proved popular with celebrities such as Alicia Keys, Michael Phelps and Stevie Knicks.

This is what happens when someone with no sense of style attempts “eclectic”. And she hired a decorator to design this! Too bad considering the beautiful architecture.

"...except in the summer when it is like a furnace."
We visited my brother in law in Scottsdale about 25 years ago in early May. By 10:30 AM, it was blazing hot outside and we had to leave the pool to get indoors. Ugh!
We've got a lot of neighbors here in North Idaho that head to Paradise Valley for the winter. They depart in October and return in May.
I took this snap yesterday on my daily walk. I don't know why people head south!

My house, last summer, some shade/sun. I'm in the hills of S.TN. on a farm with little pavement to retain heat. This temp with our humidity kills people.
I grew up in Pompano Beach Florida and TN in summer is miserable.

If sufficient energy was available at a reasonable price could water be supplied from deep aquifers? Or would it need to be desalination ocean water pumped by pipeline instead? I should think there is essentially unlimited ocean water available if we has a mind and determination to achieve it.

I have zero desire to live where water is naturally so hard to come by - it wouldn’t take much to be in dire straits if someone wanted to cause trouble.
I live in the Pacific Northwest.
