Did the judge just reveal his (now apparent) bias, by stopping the attorney from exposing fraud, in how Fani answered a question about gifts over one hundred dollars, from (intimate) individuals with a conflict of interest in a financial disclosure form?

IMHO, the judge has been pretty fair so far. This is the fourth or fifth lawyer asking her questions. He's trying to keep the lawyers from "laying foundations" that previous lawyers already laid down.

This judge has demonstrated that he understands the points the lawyers are making, and he also understands how Willis and Wade have been evasive in their answers. He admonished Willis twice for being non-responsive and threatened to strike her testimony once.

I think he's protecting these proceedings from appellate challenges.

I disagree.

The judge admonished Willis twice to limit her answers to the questions asked, allowed the lawyers to treat her as hostile, and threatened to strike her testimony if she continues.

At the end of the day, the lawyers were starting to repeat themselves. I think the judge was trying to protect his ultimate decision from appeals, but at some point he decided to just let her roll and destroy her own credibility.

The problem is that Willis and Wade clearly commingled funds while she was the District Attorney and he was a "contractor" cum employee.

The letter of the law prohibits that kind of liaison but she's playing the "proud black woman" card and is trying to intimidate the judge into making some kind of "ignorant of the law" excuse for keeping her on the case.

Maybe, but she also displayed an incompetence in running an office that is supposed to be highly regulated to avoid the appearance of corruption or public malfeasance.

They were repeating themselves a lot. If that’s all they have, it’s not enough, imho. But I’m no lawyer.

Trying to accuse them of misusing public funds when it was their salaries is a stretch.

The repeating was because there are a dozen defendants in the case, each with their own lawyers.

This matter (conflict of interest) didn't require each lawyer to rehash the same ground.

IMHO, that didn't have anything to do with the quality of the argument, it was just each lawyer grandstanding for his moment in the spotlight.

The judge was trying to stop it at 5:15PM.
