The problem is that Willis and Wade clearly commingled funds while she was the District Attorney and he was a "contractor" cum employee.

The letter of the law prohibits that kind of liaison but she's playing the "proud black woman" card and is trying to intimidate the judge into making some kind of "ignorant of the law" excuse for keeping her on the case.
