WATCH: Karine Jean-Pierre Refuses to Say D.C. Is Safe to Visit; Blames Republicans for Crime
Breitbart ^ | 02/14/2024 | JOEL B. POLLAK

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to say Wednesday that Washington, DC, is safe for Americans to visit.

Jean-Pierre evaded a question from a reporter who asked: “In DC, homicides are up. Crime is up. Carjacking is spiking. Simple question: does the president believe the nation’s capital is safe for Americans from across the country to come and visit.

“I mean, look …” Jean-Pierre began.

“All violent crime, anywhere, is completely unacceptable, not just here in D.C.,” she continued, saying she did not want to “get into politics.”

“The president is wanting to make sure that communities feel safe, and we’re not seeing that from congressional Republicans, we’re just not. They continue to get in the way,” she said.

she did not want to “get into politics.”

She"s the freaking White House press secretary! Everything about the job is politics! What a moron. She has to be the most inept idiot to ever be in that position.

“Under Graves, the US Attorney’s Office declined to prosecute 67% of those arrested for crimes in DC, including 72% of misdemeanor arrests and 53% of felony arrests.”

II knew it was bad, but I had work to let that one sink in. Tragic.

If you want to have fun just get on the metro from L’Enfant Plaza going to Anacostia.

The natives will treat you ok as long as you don’t “disrespect” them by looking them in the eye.

If you survive that tour take another metro to Howard University. They only average a shooting or stabbing once every few days there.

Then get on the city bus heading north on Georgia Avenue.

Ask the locals about that one.

Dorothy—you are not in Moscow anymore.

Lol.

What a maroon. If she had the wit of a cabbage, she would have said that DC is like any large city. Situational awareness is important. Most areas are fine. Some are not so fine. A few are sketchy enough to be considered dangerous, but even in those, if you are not wandering around like a fool and ignoring the obvious prompts, you are unlikely to become a statistic.

I’m almost surprised that KJP didn’t claim to be personally fearful of armed MAGA hat thugs roaming the streets of Cleveland Park or Kalorama.

The risk of being a victim of random street crime correlates highly with an area’s proximity to housing projects. Affluent, usually young, gentrifiers moving into transitioning neighborhoods with projects still nearby are overrepresented among the victims.

I am very familiar with DC.

They have an excellent police web site detailing crimes down to the block level with a full year’s history.

Much of the crime is petty but irritating—car break ins, apartment/condo breaks ins, shoplifting, weird homeless people and drug addicts harassing passersby and leaving needles on the street or on lawns etc etc etc.

Very few people want to live in places like that.

Night time is much worse—truly dangerous in many areas.

There are wealthy enclaves with lower crime rates—but those still have significantly more crime than “normal” suburbia.

The rats are consistent anyway.

They never take responsibility for anything even when it’s so blatantly their doing.

They always blame Trump, republicans, or race for everything.

Wash, rinse, repeat. It’s literally all they have except for the climate farce of course.

This is beyond gaslighting.

It’s full-on comedy.

Is there any way to tell when a politician is not lying?

Yes. If they are six feet under, they are not lying.

The ONLY way to tell when a politician is NOT lying is when they are DEAD, BURIED or CREAMATED!

Even then verify it to your own satisfaction!

One clue that gives me some encouragement that a person is honest is when they fully acknowledge responsibility for their mistakes.

They don’t blame anybody else.

They don’t make excuses.

They don’t call other people names.

They explain how they figured out they made the mistake and what they plan to do to reduce the chances of repeating that type of error.

DC has become a Mad Max compound, complete with barbed wire and concrete and steel barriers. It’s guarded by national guardsmen with no ammo in their magazines and populated by fat, middle-age women in the bureaucracy who hate guns and can’t figure out which bathroom to use.

DC is a farce and a clown show, protected by Alinsky’s rule No. 1:

“Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.”

I worked in D.C. for 45 years and even had an apartment there for a short time. Loved the city and its history. I have been retired for four years and there is NO WAY I would go back there now. A jogger was murdered for no reason near my office, and a few blocks away, someone was murdered in a car jacking. I used to jog through Lafayette Park to the White House and around the Washington Monument at least three times a week. These days, I wouldn’t walk down the block. It’s tragic. I really did love that city.

DC hospitals have armed guards at all entrances. You can’t even go in for an MRI without feeling fearful.
