You Won't Believe What Country Will Overtake China in Population ( No, Not Just India )

The depopulation bomb imploding in China is more powerful than ever according to shocking new figures just published by Australia's Victoria University in Melbourne.

It just seems like last month [It was just last month, Steve — editor] that I reported for you that Chinese women seemed to be voting against strongman Xi Jinping's return to True Communism™ with the only means available to them — their uteri. Live births were down in 2023 by another 500,000 under 2022's dismal figure. That puts the People's Republic fertility rate nearly at 1.0, or about half of the 2.1 required just to keep the population from shrinking.

Unchanged, as I'm sure you've already figured out in your head, each generation in China will be about half the size of the preceding generation. What that means down the road shocked even me, and I've been following this story for years.

“Our forecasts for 2022 and 2023 were already low but the real situation has turned out to be worse,” said Victoria University senior research fellow Xiujian Peng. His research, along with that of China's Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, indicates that China's population will shrink to 525 million people by the end of the century.

That's barely more than a third of today's population of over 1.4 billion. That also assumed that China's fertility rate continues to hover at about one birth per woman of childbearing age. Practically next door, in South Korea, the fertility rate has dropped even lower, to 0.78.

One reason for the sharp decline is that China is running short of women of childbearing age, with "more than three million fewer than a year earlier," according to the WSJ.

Carrying capacity - the number of people, other living organisms, or crops that a region can support without environmental degradation.

Why is it a good thing for countries to have high birthrates? We don’t need all the extra hands to work the land anymore. France and Hungary have tried to pay citizens to have more children and have failed.

Mandatory prenup that cannot be broken at all for any and all marriages.

Mandatory and *fair* prenup as part of marriage, yes.

But also:
- Mandatory paternity testing at the time of a child’s birth. This will cut way down on infidelity as well as preventing hospital release accidents.
- Parents should not be required to pay child support for any child that wasn’t theirs/that they didn’t adopt.
- Withholding custody or visitation time as a means of extorting more money out of the spouse who is already meeting all court ordered support measures should be automatically punished by loss of custody and jail.
- False accusations of abuse should be rewarded with mandatory prosecution and jail time equivalent to what the accused would have served if found guilty. Lawyers that knowingly encourage or file false accusations should be required to serve the same.
- Premarital assets must remain the property of the spouse who owned them unless another written agreement had been made. The only exception is if the asset needs to be sold to provide financial support for the children, at which point the proceeds would be paid directly to the providers needing to be paid, not the custodial parent.

There’s plenty more.

Actually, those two and other countries have adjusted their system and are having more success with it now - earlier attempts did not take into account the prejudice against males in their family court systems, which had to be resolved.

It’s not that these countries need high birth rates, but that they need at least a *replacement* birth rate level, which is 2.1 children per couple on average. If your country is not overcrowded and you don’t need to reduce population, you still need to have replacement rates - otherwise, those countries that do have replacement or better rates *will* end up eclipsing and taking over your country. Japan is a great example of this - they’re looking at a demographic crash the likes no other country has seen since the Black Plague. Aside from the military and cultural preservation aspects (look at what happened to France in WW2 for why that’s a huge problem militarily) having a population reduction like this removes most of your country’s tax base and means you have to import people and that gives them power over you in the long term.

All of the above is stuff that’s been floating around out there for years.

Another one to add to that: Every state should be single party consent for recording for purposes of evidence in the case of spouses or employers. Evidence gained in this way should, in turn, not be allowed to be sold or licensed for profit in any way, nor used for revenge porn under penalty of law.

“One reason for the sharp decline is that China is running short of women of childbearing age”

Putin is engaged in the effort now to encourage women to have more children. Since Russia appears to have the world’s highest abortion rate, I assume he will make some effort to prevent Russian women to also be voting with their uteri. I think China also has a very high abortion rate as well. I was surprised recently to see that Pakistan’s population is roughly the same size as ours in the US.

The gender gap is not really that bad.

239 teen girls for 271 boys means that working class girls will be grabbed by middle class guys. Peasant guys are out of luck, but all the girls will have the opportunity to have a man who can support a family with a “stay at home” mom.

They need to tweak their social credit system to incentivize marriage and children more.

Actually, it’s worse than that. The problem is that at the scale of the Chinese population, they now have dozens of millions of men who now will *never* be able to find a girlfriend, let alone a wife.

Think about what that’s going to mean for their society.

Think of what it will mean for OUR society.

“But sir - a war with America will cost us at least 10 million men! - Oh, right.”

As I have said elsewhere, they’re *already* looking for a short, ultra-high-intensity conventional war to bleed off excess male population *and* quell the rising internal unrest. Direct war with the US is out because they’d lose most of their hard currency income... so they’ve been saber rattling with all their neighbors. Their latest attempt was war with India over their common border, but the Indians have been doing a great job of holding their territory while depriving the Chinese of the mass troop casualties they really want and still repulsing their troops.

I also think highly of right wing catholics (and protestants) who refuse to use contraception.
