Gun control was once 'electoral kryptonite.' Now Colorado Democrats are emboldened — and prepared to ac (barf alert)

leven years ago, Democratic state lawmakers faced protests and recalls over their passage of a high-capacity magazine ban and universal background checks for gun buyers in the wake of the Aurora and Sandy Hook mass shootings. The legislation cost two senators their seats, including the Senate president, and a third resigned.

The backlash left a scar on Democratic leaders, even as the recalled lawmakers said they had no regrets. For several years, legislators introduced few gun reform bills, and none passed.

But that timidity is now long gone — a turnaround attributable to increasing Democratic electoral dominance in Colorado and growing gun reform activism that’s been fueled by a local backdrop of mass shootings as well as grimly routine gun violence and suicides. A new cadre of Democratic lawmakers have embraced firearms policy in a big way. They’ve been spurred on by an expanding voter base that, rather than punishing them, has shown up to the Capitol to demand they do more. “There are pockets and communities that feel very strongly about Second Amendment rights,” said Rep. Steven Woodrow, a Denver Democrat. “But in terms of it being electoral kryptonite — in terms of it being an issue where … you’ve got to worry about

Gun control and abortion are the hills Dems are prepared to die on. Good on them for being willing to.

Most of what they want is objectively unconstitutional.

How far Colorado has fallen.

Elections don’t really seem to concern the Jackass party these days. I wonder why?

The future State of Denver can enact all of the gun control it wants after the secession takes place. I don’t think the rest of Colorado will pay much attention.

Are they Colorado Democrats or California Democrats that moved to Colorado? Colorado has suffered from the Liberal Diaspora as have many other States.

When I left two years ago I said they’d be coming for your money, your vote, and your guns. I thought they’d fallen behind on the gun front but I see they’re working to catch up.

“Ghost guns”, the new scary sounding term invented by the media to frighten sheep into giving up a few of their rights. So, tell me, how do you plan to enforce this law requiring :ghost guns” to have a serial number?

Outside of Rangely Colorado in 1980 while working in the oilfield, we got pulled over by the sheriff because we didn’t have our rifles in the gun rack and loaded, we loaded them up and put them in the rack so they were ready to use and he sent us on our way.

Yeah, you go ahead and roll that political gun dice, Dickhead! I have no proof, but I’ll still wager there are enough of a percentage (although still small) of Washington Park and Denver county Dems who have now pulled in their Virtua Signaling yard signs and have opted (for the first time in their miserable lives) to purchase a gun - for home protection against the new street class of committed drug users and illegal invaders. We’ll be caught up with Chicago in three short years.

Colorado has been Californicated as they were warned against fifty years ago.
Sadly I still remember when the voters of California thoroughly REJECTED gun control back in 1982 (Prop 15). Now they have it.
Next New Mexico is being Californicated and the same gun control measures are being pushed by the democrats.

Media hyped terms...over the years.

Saturday Night Specials!
Army Surplus Rifles
Cop Killer Bullets that can punch through anything!
Plastic handguns that can pass through airport x-ray machines!
A-s-s-sault Rifles!
.50 cal rifles that can bring down an aircraft!

The list is endless.

This is why every single commie has to be put in the ground. It’s the only way to be sure since they are an existential threat to society wherever they are. Our ancestors knew this basic truth, then their descendants forgot it (via commie propaganda).
