I don’t want to stray too far from the subject, but I can’t help but comment on what I watched last night; one of Dean Martin’s Celebrity Roasts from 1974.
50 years ago.

They were roasting Bob Hope. “Political correctness” wasn’t even a thought back then, and two of the biggest “incorrect” were Flip Wilson and Nipsey Russell. It was hilarious! At the end, Don Rickles gave his two cents.
Once he got started, I was laughing so hard I started choking on the milk I was trying to swallow.

Everybody was cracking up, it was all in fun, NOBODY was offended.

How times have changed. We can’t laugh at ourselves anymore……

Yes, hard to imagine in woke Hollywood doing this today, but they don't have a problem portraying Whites in equal racially based (yet hilariously funny) sketches like these below:

Humor is, and always has been in the eye of the beholder, and is powerful commentary.

With racial humor, It brings to mind the contrast between "whose ox is being gored" at any given point and whose isn't...especially in the minds of the Left.

In the two examples below one that pokes fun at a black racist person who wants to kill white people going up in front of an all white parole board, and one that uses rogue white cops as an an illustration that was the basis of the BLM false assertions that blacks were being hunted down and killed by police in wildly disproportionate numbers for no reason whatsoever. The link below shows an SNL sketch with Garrett Morris playing a black convict going in front of an all white parole board singing a song about killing white people with a shotgun:

In this video above, it is true that there were cases of black men in prison who were racist murderers serving time, and that they were brought in front of all-white parole boards who are presented as being simply racist for keeping black men in jail. In jail. Not without a kernel of truth, as that is the key to any stereotype.

This link below shows a Chris Rock Video that satirizes police brutality against black males.

Chris Rock with his " Again, it is true (as we all saw in the Rodney King incident) that blacks were occasionally beaten by groups of white police) and Chris Rock, to his credit, presents as humor the reasons why that might happen, but again, what makes this effective and funny is that it is NOT without that essential kernel of truth.

"Blazing Saddles" is a case in point of why satire is, and should be a weapon against real racism. The Producer/Director Mel Brooks, and many of the cast (both blacks and whites) fully understood that the movie was intended for two purposes: Financial (obviously, to make money) and cultural (to skewer racists, which it effectively did)

They understood the power of freedom of speech, how it is indeed a double-edged sword, and pointedly illustrated the fact that with the First Amendment, you can say things for a variety of purposes which many people are going to disagree with, but you still have the right to say it.

It wasn't their fault that Leftists are humorless (just watch a few minutes of Jimmy Fallon, as I did recently, to drive that point home when he spent the few minutes talking about Trump) but that they are also immune to irony as well, a bad combination.

When one watches a work like "Blazing Saddles" with the knowledge that it is skewering racial stereotypes, as well as racists themselves, the movie acquires a new patina of relevancy and meaning.

I find it sadly amusing that Leftists describe a movie like "Blazing Saddles" as something enjoyed by "White Supremacists" or simply "racists") without realizing how brutally those groups are ridiculed in the movie.

Now, they subscribe to the view that only one side of their choosing in an ideological battle of humor is to be permitted, and it is enforce by various DEI initiatives with money behind them.

In other words, a source of forced indoctrination of a viewpoint, rather than the more Socratic view of education regarding things like racism, where something is presented in a given way, allowing viewers to come to their own conclusions on that viewpoint, rather than simply forcing it down their throats with the equivalent of "Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad" as Orwell put it.

Might be helpful to review the two largest Asian Indian American exit polls ever taken.

2,000 + national samples, in both polls.

In 2012 - 80% of Asian Indian Americans voted to reelect Barack Obama.

In 2016 - 77% of Asian Indian Americans voted for Hillary Clinton.

In 2020 - I cannot find any exclusive national polls for Asian Indian Americans. However, generic national polls for "Asian Americans" show that 66% voted against Donald Trump.

If she ever got the nomination (she won't), the Lamestream Media would give her the McCain treatment.

Before McCain secured the 2008 nomination, the press ran stories about how he was a refreshing "moderate" who would work with the other side. Then as soon as he was the nominee, it was story after story about his bad temper and mental fitness.

Then, of course, when Trump was president, it was back to the hero treatment. And after the traitor saved Obamacare with his vote from his hospital bed, the press covered his funeral as if it was the death of a president.

During the Weekend Update segment last night, one of the idiot co-anchors made a joke about Gaza calling for a ceasefire in Chicago. This joke was very similar to a joke that appeared in Babylon Bee a couple of days ago. I guess they figured if plagiarism is good enough for Harvard, then it's good enough for SNL.
