EVs are doing their job. Making it harder for the average person to afford personal transportation.
the purpose of the battery car push is to destroy private transportation
now everyone on the bus!
“…and as long as the raw materials are sourced correctly, and the chargers are not powered by coal-burning generators,…”
Yeah. Good luck with that.
“...grand, state-led industrial strategies never work...”
Hey, it’s a Great Leap Forward [in EVs].
What could go wrong?
It can work. If we invest a few trillion we can move LA closer to NY, requiring fewer charges.
"Government motto: "Subsidize failure with tax-payer dollars!""
Facilitated by the long arm of the ill-conceived 16th Amendment (16A; direct taxes), junk science remedies for government / industrial-manufactured crises are basically nothing more than politically correct excuses to funnel unconstitutional tax dollars to desperate Democrats and RINOs to help keep them in power imo.
"16th Amendment : The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
“ If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” — Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2 (1833).
From the congressional record:
”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
“Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattetive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves [emphasis added]. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)
Pelosi: "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it." (non-FR; 6 sec.)
Democrats [and RINOs] Are Terrified Of An Educated And Informed Public (3.12.23)
Repealing 16A, the 17th Amendment (17A) too (popular voting for federal senators), would not only put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, but would also effectively “secede” ALL the states from unconstitutionally big federal government imo.
Consider that repealing 16A alone would probably cause crook politicians who have been following the tsunami of unconstitutional tax dollars to DC to lose interest in staying in DC regardless of 17A.
Any industry getting subsidies is, by definition, not economically viable on is own. Some facts are just too obvious.
Bahahahahah poor battery humpers can’t hardly give their crap away lol
I couldn’t see the climbing down without a least doubling down 6 more times
Oh for pity’s sake, give ‘em a break, wouldja? They’ve only been trying to sort out the electric car for 190 years.
Internal combustion engines are being perfected all the time. They get less polluting and more efficient all the time. Much of this due to the computer controls on them, So why drop them now for EVs?
Although I agree with the author that EV company fleets with installed charge stations can make sense in urban situations. Also for high earners as a 2nd, 3rd vehicle. I see a fair number of Teslas running around where I live, They do look cool. They seem to come in only white and dark blue.
I think EVs would be great were it not for the practicalities of battery and charging systems needed. Extremely high replacement costs coupled with the potentiality of an insuppressible fire problem, say in your garage are a big NO for me. Having one catch on fire in your garage might just as well be a big block of magnesium catching fire. Good luck with putting it out.
Every fantasy Narrative must crash into reality, eventually. Hopefully, before it destroys us all.
“ Government motto: “Subsidize failure with tax-payer dollars!”
It shows a fault-line in the fascist Wesrern system.
Fascism works great, until the government gets really stupid.
