With stiff, cold fingers, Sambeittou Sambeittou removed the neatly folded piece of cardboard he carries in his pocket like a wallet and treats like a precious jewel.

“I’m looking for carpenter jobs” is written in marker along with a phone number.

The 45-year-old huddled with other migrants from Africa at the entrance of a Lowe’s in Brooklyn, hoping for a few dollars in tips from customers loading drywall, lumber and insulation into their vehicles.

Sambeittou never learned to read and write in Mauritania, the West African country he left three months ago on a journey that took him through Senegal, Turkey, Nicaragua and Mexico.

RE: a few dollars in tips from customers loading drywall, lumber and insulation into their vehicles.

Which will go into home improvements adding to the comfort of the illegals soon to be forced into the people’s homes after the 2024 election.

“They aren’t going to a barber shop or a deli,” Di Martino said. “They’re creating cash businesses and not paying taxes.”

One of the first signs of government overreach and corruption is the formation of black markets. They don't pay taxes.

The black market in cigarettes is stunning in NYC.

More than half of all cigarettes sold in the city are black market.

Yep. They dropped a bunch of them in Ga.

They will NEVER assimilate and will only commit crimes or get welfare. Ship them to Delaware and the Hamptons.

If I see some, you bet your sweet a$$ I will personally buy them bus tickets.

That's by design. The high taxes on cigarettes were not meant to discourage smokers but to allow organized crime to profit from unstamped cigarettes - of course giving a piece to the New York city political machine.

Not one ounce of sympathy for any of these people. They shouldn’t be here. The government just got done taxing my annual bonus at 38% and these people are not only here illegally, but they are being given freebies on the American taxpayer and cheating Social Security as well as Federal, State and Local taxes. We are so lost as a country. Truly screwed up.

Send him back to Mauritania. He’s an economic migrant, and he’s never going to send any money to his family either. He’ll be paid less than minimum wage, and he owes his smugglers. He’s a debt slave.

I suppose all these poor invaders will claim they will be punished by the smuggler cartels if they are sent home without paying debts, and as prospective crime victims have the right to stay here while a case is built so they can testify, which they will never do.

The great ponzi and scam of the progressive state

He’ll never pay taxes, even if legal.

Yet he’ll live in welcoming blue cities. He’ll use all kinds of government services, particularly health care and probably some day, social security.

And THAT will be paid for with printed, fiat money and Fed.gov debt.

He will never send any money to his family, but the next amnesty will allow family reunification.

The irony is that other states get to collect the taxes—particularly New Hampshire.

More than half of the cigarettes in low cigarette tax New Hampshire end up out of state.

Yep, and many others cited in the news article are from other exotic regions of the world. All flying to the Americas somehow, and transiting up through Mexico and across our border. More pressure needs to be put on Mexico to stop the illegals of the world from transiting Mexico into the USA. Thanks Biden for destroying our nation.

The government just got done taxing my annual bonus at 38%

I was called down to San Diego from my home in Idaho to perform work. I had just received a nice 5% raise. Just as I arrived in San Diego to do the work, my company changed tax policy to collect income taxes based on the zip code where the work is performed. Now I would have to pay taxes based on state income tax for San Diego, CA vs Pocatello, ID. My entire raise and more was eclipsed from my paycheck. I saw exactly ONE paycheck with the increase.
