“Pineapple Express”
Has kind of a racist sound to it.

It is also becoming anachronistic. Although Hawaii's nickname is the Pineapple State, pineapple production has declined sharply in recent decades, as has sugar. One of the reasons that Lahaina burned to the ground is that the pineapple and sugar plantations that once surrounded the town were abandoned and reverted to brush.

Pineapple Express has been a name for these CA storms at least since the 80’s.

I prefer umbrella drink weather. The ‘news’ stations predict disaster. BS. in ‘82 we had 1 inch per hour for 12 hrs. That was a bit wet.

re: Lahaina,
You are not wrong. If I’m correct, they quit burning the cane fields.

...warned on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Who doesn't know what "X" is by now?

The Media just can't let go of the Twitter name.

It hurts to learn how far Stanford has sunk in the last 50 yrs. This seems to have been a revelation to those with an IQ over 3.

The EPA will have to sanction San Francisco when all that poop and drugs get flushed into the bay.

“...calif will have rain, like this never happen in all of recorded history”

Oh it’s happened. Only thanks to the mismanagement of it the water that could be used in agricultual areas like the San Joaquin Valley gets bypassed by the aquaduct starting at the Sacramento. But over two thirds of the water involved goes to southern California to water lawns while one third is given to three separate areas, one in Bakersfield, one at San Luis reservoir near Tracy, and the third at Santa Barbara. Meantime the reservoir is also cyphoning water coming through the valley from the Sierras so very little actually goes to the most agricultural part of the state and its main source of income. Notice Newsome’s winery is in the north in Napa Valley.

Last week here in Saint Lucie county, Florida we had 6 inches of rain in two days.
Back yard is flooded but home is 4 feet higher.
Southern Cal is a desert not used to high rain totals so drainage is an after thought.
Historically, Calif. has gone through high rain totals for a few years then droughts.
I heard a lot of San Diegos drainage problem was cause so many homeless folks crap clogged the drains?

During my years in San Diego, the "rains" showed up on a regular basis. Streets were washed out. One year a complete mobile home washed from the back country to the ocean...30 miles. When the soil becomes wet and unstable, the Eucalyptus trees begin falling. I would expect a few to go over the next week.

Hey Joe, I’m about an hour south of you in hollywood.
Remember a few months ago when the flooding shut down the fort Lauderdale airport? I’ve been in florida, 60 years and never saw that before

not all of it gets bypassed.

you do know that a lot of the water to LA comes from the ownens valley and the colorado river.

how about the three dams newscum wants to destroy for the salmon to run up river so the few indians that live up in the far north of calif can fish..
