Have a look at the actual Bloomberg article, wherein it says US officials see no sign Putin wants to end the war. (no Bloomberg links per FR policy).
They said the same thing about Finland and Sweden joining NATO. What happened?

I suspect Trump’s threats to “end the war” are a bargaining strategy to force NATO into shouldering more or even most of the costs of the war. NATO is trying to dabble with a donation here and a gift there to prevent them from having to alter the socialist pay-people-to-not-protest cultures. NATO wants the US to shoulder the whole cost, so they don’t have to. That won’t fly with Trump.

They will complete the conquest of the traditional Russian areas (300 years) which means Odessa and Kharkiv will be lost to Russia permanently. Had the West actually negotiated the Minsk Agreements in good faith, perhaps the eastern part of what was Ukraine wouldn’t have been transformed back to Russian. Putin will also ensure that NATO Ukraine will NEVER happen. These are the goals originally set and when they are accomplished the Russians will consider ending this if NATO GTFO of Ukraine. None of the war and killing were necessary if the West hadn’t been so hell bent on trying to use Ukraine to overthrow Russia.
This is the US putting out feelers to the Russians. I can’t see the Russians trusting the current US administration concerning most anything.
BTW if Trump is merely a pita ..then why would they go to EXTREME measures to destroy him? Cause he (we) are a threat to their socialist “democracy” iow global oligarchy.
