EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is pushing back and adding more razor wire to the border fence after Monday's Supreme Court ruling that the border patrol can remove the wire along the southern border.
So far, the border patrol in the borderland has not cut down any of the razor wire.
In the meantime, Abbott says he won’t back down despite the Supreme Court’s ruling, and for now, plans to continue to secure the border however he wants to.
“What Governor Abbott is doing is not just unconstitutional, and it’s not just harmful to very vulnerable people, but it is impairing the border patrol's ability to do their job, and it’s the border patrol that is trained and equipped to address migration,” said Congresswoman Veronica Escobar.
Speaking in El Paso Monday, Escobar said she believes Abbott is out of line for adding more razor wire just a day after the Supreme Court issued the ruling.
Abbott posted on X saying, “The Texas National Guard continues to hold the line”
Texas law enforcement in Eagle Pass was also seen putting up more wire on Tuesday.

Hold the line Texas! And if Texas ever chooses to succeed, I’m moving there.
In case the order to remove the wire is carried out I don’t think anything was said about immediately restoring it with more of the same.
He’s undermining demoncrazy.
Move it back 15 feet and make Biden sue again. Arrest anyone who lays a finger on Texas State property.
L
Require anyone entering Shelby Park to have a pass issued by the state of Texas. Do not issue any to BDP.
Texas has a history of border troubles and Fedgov troubles. Go Texas! Give the Feds hell!
Sounds like Roberts and Amy Commie Barrett need a couple buses of illegals dropped off at their front door.
They need to add electricity to the wire!
The Court gave the Feds up to 25 feet.
Deep ditches at the gate. Deepen the Rio Grande. Today due to heavy rainfall one rather strong border crosser nearly drowned when he was being carried downstream.. Few other cross attempts.
I like this governor more every day.
In 1958 Eisenhower nationalized the Arkansas NG.
In 1963 Kennedy nationalized the Alabama NG.
In both cases they furthered civil rights.
In this case Biden might try to nationalize the Texas NG, and find the generals refuse. So far the Guard is standing with the governor.
The Insurrection Act says Biden can use the regular Army to bring this under control.
Law doesn’t mean anything anymore. Without being applied across the board equally and justly it is insignificant.
Excellent point there my FRIEND.
Add to that the arrogant and unaccountable agencies that have stonewalled congressional inquiries.
Systemic breakdowns all over the place.
My money is on Texas prevailing if they want to. Just protecting Eagle Pass is insufficient though.
Good luck to the Democrats and Biden trying to sell that to the American people in an election year.

“Good luck to the Democrats and Biden trying to sell that to the American people in an election year. “
See my post #72.
In both of the other cases a clear majority of the American people were behind POTUS actions.
In this case a clear majority are opposed to the actions of the POTUS.
While he has the power to put down what amounts on paper as an insurrection, does he have the political capital to do so?
I wonder how much of this is being driven by Paxton.>>>>>probably 80%
YES!!!!
