The House passed a short-term spending extension only hours after the bill cleared the Senate, pushing the next shutdown threat to March and surrendering Republican leverage on enacting a border security package.
The continuing resolution (CR) passed 314-108, extending spending levels and priorities set by then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in December 2022 during a lame-duck session of Congress.

Even with a slight majority, we still lose every single time.
By the People, For the People. My Rebel Southern ass.
Why are these 2 losers still running things ?

Yep.
When the Democrats have a majority, the Democrats win.
When the Republicans have a majority, the Democrats win.
But maybe I shouldn’t say “Democrats” there. “Deep State” might be better.
They agreed to 5000 per day crossing the border.
I would say vote them out but with Dominion “counting” the votes, we can’t. To Hades with Team Mitch and Mike.
Reminds me of a character in on old James Bond movie, Pussy Galore.
I am so tired of continuing resolutions.
It matters not whether they pass this now or in March or a year later. Trillions of dollars owed to pay debt to keep it current is a finite situation for the US.
Every single Republican who voted for it must be primaried.
Will be the same regardless. If Trump wins, he’s an automatic lame duck. Fauci and pelosi owned him during covid as a strong first term prez…. so we haven’t seen anything yet.
And in March, there’ll be another threatened shutdown, and McAsshole and associates will once again assume the position and get cornholed by the DemocRATs. The Republican party is dead.
Because we have a new speaker who's a gay dem posing as a repub and Christian.
Change My Mind
“But with two to three inches of snow expected in the capitol on Friday, Johnson opted to advance the CR as passed by the Senate and send the House home for the weekend.“
_______________
Mike Johnson was fundraising just earlier today on this.
His statement to me was “this is a hill I will die on.”
Well, he’s dead to me now. All it took was a little snow for him to cave. Weak!
Christian? Uh huh...
First time I saw ‘him’, my gaydar went off.
Unfortunately, neither of the major parties have a fiscally conservative running for president.
We have ZERO representation in CONgress. You know it’s bad when you pray the terrorists hit the target called dc first and leave we the people to ourselves.
No way. You're spot on the money when it comes to this weirdo.
