I hate to be captain obvious again, but maybe people have not noticed this story. Something isn’t right and just doesn’t add up. The events took place last Thursday, the comments by National Security Council spokesman John Kirby are today.
Look at the contrast between what U.S. Central Command put out -vs- the first AP report on the same incident.

Now look at the AP FIRST NOTICE reporting:
Two U.S. Navy SEALs are missing after conducting a nighttime boarding mission Thursday off the coast of Somalia, according to three U.S. officials.
The SEALs were on an interdiction mission, climbing up a vessel when one got knocked off by high waves. Under their protocol, when one SEAL is overtaken the next jumps in after them.
Both SEALs are still missing. A search and rescue mission is underway and the waters in the Gulf of Aden, where they were operating, are warm, two of the U.S. officials said. (read more)
We are supposed to believe that two naval special force operators, Navy SEALS, doing a ship-to-ship transfer, fully kitted, fell into the water, suddenly disappeared and could not be located in the two days between the CentCom announcement (Jan 11) and the AP report (Jan 13).
Eh… nope. Sketchy!
So, here’s National Security Council spokesman John Kirby today. WATCH:

“...are there no personal emergency location devices? “
And no communications ?
How is the Navy or Special Operations command supposed to know what happened if there was no coms ?
Or they had them in visual, and just watched them drown ?
I think it’s more likely to be something like the “Buster” Crabb incident. Which is still not entirely resolved.

The word you’re looking for is “implies/implied”, not “infers”, and of course you didn’t respond to the meat of *my* post, so I’ll ignore the rest of your (lame) response.
Have a nice day.
REVEALED: Two Navy SEALs lost at sea off the coast of Somalia went missing when one slipped on a ladder while boarding a ship that was taking Iranian weapons to Houthi rebels in Yemen
Hopefully they swam to shore and are partying with the natives.
A classic from the 70’s. It’s hard not to remember it.
EC
Lot of unknowns. What size was the ship? What were they boarding from? If it was a smaller craft there were other operators not mentioned. Was the ship underway or was it moored?
OMG you have become annoying.
When this first happened, I checked the water temp in the Gulf. High 70’s. Hypothermia is not an issue.
I’d assume that their kit includes flotation devices. I just can’t fathom this having a bad ending, unless, as Sundance believes, the story is a complete lie, made up by liars.
There is a ratio for individual radio beacons. Every vest or PFD has a flashing strobe. NONE of these are to be used for just one person. They are locked in the repair lockers for when ‘abandon ship” is called.
SEALs are tough. Keep praying.
I am obviously not cought up with the world yet. Keep praying.
Amen...

How do the two relate to each other in any way, and which version of the Crabb mystery is it supposed to match?
The phony stories the Regime put out after both Crabb and these two SEALs disappeared.
Now the latest is they were part of a boarding party. Two ended up in the water, but the rest detained the crew, confiscated the weapons, scuttled the ship but can’t find two in the water ????
Do Navy SEALs do boardings in rough seas without flotation devices, communications or locator beacons ?
You could have just made your claim like that in the first place instead of sending people to a long and irrelevant British story from the 1950s about a Russian submarine.
If they weren’t doing what people think they were doing, what is your theory?
Russian Cruiser, not submarine.
Who the hell knows ?
What was Buster Crabb doing and what happened to him ?
We still don’t know for sure.
The reason to refer to past events is because there is nothing new under the sun.
Most people understand that part of what one can do is look at past events to try to explain confusing or inexplicable current news. Past events can sometimes give some hints or guidance.
Also, past events gives a pattern for institutions which have to face bad news or failed missions, and how they communicate that to the public.
I guess the connection will remain a mystery to me.
...old joke...
