BTW....Why no mention of US provided weapons [$500billion] to Saudi to make war on Yemen, killing 500,000 civilians? Sounds pretty genocidal to me.

Well, first off, there were attacks directed at US vessels; those attacks were thwarted. Moreover, one of the defined missions of our Navy in particular is to maintain freedom of the seas, and that does not require a declaration of war from Congress.

The oil tanker is American....

Plus the enemy have attacked US troops 130 times ...

Plus Congress doesnt get involved unless the war goes over 90 days...

Plus war have not been declared...

Here’s an end to your
waiting FRiend.

“On December 3, 2023, three commercial ships, including the USS Carney, were attacked by ballistic missiles fired from Houthi-controlled Yemen, according to the US military”

Though we have not declared
war on the Houthis, we’re
bound by alliances to defend
hostile actions.

“When did Congress declare war on Yemen? Or Houthis? When was an American vessel attacked?”

To defeat the Soviets the United States patrolled the global oceans and made free trade possible for everyone. The last 80 years or so has been the most peaceful and prosperous in human history. But since the Soviet Union fell the United States has been backing away from the role of maintaining peace and trade.

By blocking trade through the Suez Canal, the Houthis may cause famine and financial collapse in the more vulnerable countries. It won’t help the finances of the US and its allies either. What is America’s interest? Well, there are a lot of things that will affect us. As people starve, they tend to get on boats to South America so they can eventually get across our non-existent southern border. From there they will go on welfare. All we have to do to prevent potentially millions of people coming here to vote Democrat is bomb a few Houthis. I say, “let the bombing commence.”

The ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran-backed militias began in late 2023. It includes the U.S. Navy fighting against drone attacks on American warships and other vessels by armed groups of the Houthi movement. The U.S. military says there have been more than two dozen attacks in the last seven weeks. The most serious attack was Tuesday when Houthis fired more than 20 drones and missiles at U.S. and allied warships.

American vessels on the high seas outside Yemen’s territorial waters have been attacked several times already.
