President Joe Biden’s climate change-obsessed Department of Energy (DOE) was wrong when it reversed Trump-era rules making dishwashers and laundry machines more efficient for Americans, a federal appeals court ruled on Monday.
A three-judge panel for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled that the agency acted in an “arbitrary and capricious” manner when it repealed laundry machine and dishwasher rules designed to cut down on wash times. The order, penned by Judge Andrew Oldham, also notes that “it is unclear that the DOE has any statutory authority to regulate water use in dishwashers and clothes washers.”

I remember big toilets before our masters in DC decided to force them to be smaller.
Get used to it. We live in a throw away society so if ypu het more tgan 4 years out of a major appliance, consider yourself lucky.
They did the same thing with dishwashers. They still don’t get it...most of us rinse/wash off the dishes before they go in the dishwasher. I basically use it for sterilizing.
I replace my fridge 2 years ago. The one I had before that was from 1992....

They’ve gotten the new toilets right. Newer ones, even with the small tanks, flush way better than the older, bigger ones every did.
“resident Joe Biden’s climate change-obsessed Department of Energy (DOE) was wrong”
Kinda’ doubt they are obsessed over global warming, they just want huge payouts the DC way as those crooks get filthy rich first while the courts eventually knock their rules down.
Great news!
Will burn a tire tonight in celebration.
We bought our first refrigerator in 1970. We moved 6 times in the years that followed(transferred) and brought that refrigerator with us. When we moved from our last house in 2003 we left it behind. In all those years it was repaired once. I’m on my 3rd fridge in our 20 years in this house.
Repair guys are a scam. They charge $100 bucks to show up, then basically tell you to fix the problem will cost more than it’s worth you go out and buy a new machine and they pocket $100 bucks for 20 minute of examining the appliance.
Last one I called did this song and dance… told me the repair would be $300. Went online and found the part for $25 and replaced it in 10 minutes
“...most of us rinse/wash off the dishes before they go in the dishwasher and use the DW for sterilizing”
Yep, that’s our MO. Of course, I never had a DW that could really handle dirty dishes with dried-on food. We’ve rinsed by hand and used the DW for sterilizing for decades.
Yes, the commie feds even at that time were stepping in their own human piles of manure over this unnecessary interference. Over here you can see Canada just across the Detroit River and people were going there just to buy toilets - funny at the time when people were stopped all the time in Customs to declare the toilets, soon they just gave up. Around here is the most fresh water in least 50 light years and you’re not gonna drain the Great Lakes by toilet LOL.
“I had to replace the washing machine that I bought in 2018 this week. The agitator broke already. The repairman wanted almost 300 bucks so I said screw it and bought a new one.”
I remember my Grandmother’s Maytag refrigerator from the 1950’s. We moved her to a retirement home in 85’ and it was still chugging along.

I’ve repaired my GE stove twice and my fridge once. Unfortunately some people don’t know which end of a screwdriver to use.
The one nice thing is that if you’re handy at all, many things can be diagnosed and repaired using YouTube videos.
Too bad the tire isn’t around Bidet’s neck.
I was always handy with tools....it just took me like six months to remember that I still had my Dremel.
Careful there, do not doubt this forum is being monitored.
Congress and the W.H. don’t want our toilets big enough to flush down all the commulibwoke sh, er, garbage they are trying to force down our throats.
