Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) got the better of CBS moderator Margaret Brennan — and perhaps CBS editorial “standards” — in an interview that aired Sunday.
“Back in 2021, you were the lawmaker who circulated the legal brief known as the Texas amicus brief, challenging the 2020 election outcome in a number of states, which by CBS editorial standards makes you an election denier,” Brennan said to Johnson on Face the Nation.
“That’s nonsense,” Johnson calmly replied.
Brennan persisted, “Can I get you on the record on that?”

CBS has editorial standards?
I would have replied, “More importantly, Margaret, can I get YOU on the record on that?”........................
The MSM is destroying itself just by continuing to lie. God wins in the end
Margaret, see that camera your staff is holding, it records audio and video, that's called being on the record.
If he cares about mainstream media that’s a problem
Brennan and many like her are at best ignorant, and at worst fools and in her case: an ignorant, fool. The sad part, all by choice.
Here we go again . . . Mike’s Johnson is doing the thing. “My personal thought”, is that he has lost the focus and is more concerned about pleasing the plenty.
Did he have a real job prior to politics?
How many terms has had in the House?
If he’s a career politician as I suspect he is and has had multiple House terms (close to 5 terms - 10 yeasr?).
Why is anyone surprised?
it was probably Pierre Poilievre in Canada...
Does anyone know what became of the brief that he refers to? I assume the SCOTUS dismissed it and referred cases back to the states but I dont recall. Clearly the SC did nothing with it.
