Stefanik is concerned about the “treatment of January 6 hostages.” This BIG and growing - republicans have tried STERNLY written letters, voicing their disapproval - What is Next? A letter in their high school personal file? It has been over 3 years. The American people deserve better. More Americans are going to be imprisoned and yet the republicans are the party of NO ACTION.

On January 6, anchor Kristen Welker said, “Do you still feel as though that day was tragic and that those who were responsible should be held responsible to the fullest extent of the law?”
Stefanik replied, “First of all, Kristen, as typical for NBC and the biased media, you played one excerpt of my speech. I stand by my comments that I made on the House floor, and I stand for integrity and I challenged the certification of the state of Pennsylvania because of the unconstitutional overreach. I stand by my floor speech. I am proud to support President Trump.”
She continued, “I have concerns about the treatment of January 6 hostages. I have concerns. We have concerns of oversight and over our treatment of prisoners. I believe we’re seeing the weaponization of the federal government not just against Trump, but we are seeing it against conservatives. We are seeing it against Catholics. That’s one of the reasons why I am proud to serve on the Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Government because the American people want answers and they want transparency, and they understand that as you look across this country, there seems to be two sets of rules your last name is Clinton or Biden, you get to live by another set of rule.”

I like Stefanik, and can see her as a viable VP pick, but why did she wait for years before mentioning this?

So you go to some banana republic country and they lock you up, with the potential for it being indefinite and there being mistreatment, and the only offer they give you is to plead guilty or rot in jail?
If that’s not hostage, what would you call it? Political dissident maybe?
It’s more likely that if they don’t have something on you to blackmail you with they will cheat in the primaries to keep you out. Which explains why the GOPe won’t touch election fraud with a ten foot pole - they all used it to get into office.
It is a shame that the Democrats have set the standards for justice in this country. Of course this could come back to bite them!
republicans should of been protesting the arrest and treatment of these political arrests for years now.
I believe they get very timid because of what the people that own the cameras and microphones can do to them. That is only possible because of universal suffrage and a gullible electorate that doesn’t know how to think critically and lives by their feelings. They tend to get stirred up quite easily around election day.
They are not stupid. They are just only pretending to support conservatism.
When the donor class knows they can’t get a leftist globalist elected in a district, they back a RINO who can be relied upon to do no more than talk, and not oppose the agenda in any meaningful way.

Even here on FR people don’t get that Trump is one of all the Republicans, that the slings and arrows he takes, anyone taking the same positions he takes will get the same and very few are willing. Look at Rudy. He’s filing for bankruptcy. A guy who saved the now failed under democrats NYC.

I have *never* associated the word “tragic” with J6. Words like “coup, “corruption,” and “gaslight” come to mind, but hardly begin to address the abject state of affairs in Washington, DC and wherever leftists lurk.
The only Congress Critters I have seen try to call attention to what has happened to the J6 Political Prisoners was Louie Gohmert, MTG and Matt Gaetz.
Louie is now out of Congress and MTG and Matt have grown silent.
