New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Thursday announced a lawsuit against more than a dozen charter bus and transportation companies involved in busing migrants to New York City, seeking hundreds of millions of dollars for the care of migrants in the self-described "sanctuary" city.

"New York City has and will always do our part to manage this humanitarian crisis, but we cannot bear the costs of reckless political ploys from the state of Texas alone," Adams said in a statement . "Today, we are taking legal action against 17 companies that have taken part in Texas Governor Abbott’s scheme to transport tens of thousands of migrants to New York City in an attempt to overwhelm our social services system."

The lawsuit argues that the companies have violated New York state law by not paying for the cost of caring for migrants

Adams is a dimwit......he thinks Abbott does this in a vacuum.

I am reasonably sure Abbott has secured the migrants’ desire——
in writing-——that they wish to be taken to NY.

It’s not against the law to drive a bus from one location to another. Try again.

Six months ago, he was bussing migrants to upstate counties and then suing the counties if they opposed it.

Obviously Adams is racist against the immigrants who “just want a better life”, why is he standing in their way?

Drop them off in Secaucus and give them a train ticket. Let Adams try and sue the railroads.

NYC have a no buses sign at the city limits NOPE Mayor Eric Adams playing with his pocket rocket again.

Hustling for some cash is his main job now.

$700 Million?

Is that the cost of housing all those “immigrants”?

Tough shitsky. Suck it up.

Notice he doesn’t complain about Fuhrer Biden anymore ever since Fuhrer Biden sent his SS- FBI to kick down the door of his fundraiser. One does not speak ill of der Fuhrer!!

I remember that. They later also shook him down one day on the street and took his cell phone and ipad.

Toe the Line, Boy!

IF it’s “legal” to be in a sanctuary state, then in what legal grounds does NYC pretend to stand in to sue bus companies in a legal transaction.
If Adam is to sue anyone it’s the Biden administration for not protecting the border.
Liberals, know what I meant, folks🙄

Mayor Adams will need to show a crime (there is none) and losses. Any losses he then shows are on him, because he's the one who publicly declared (and repeated) that New York City would continue as an illegal "Sanctuary City".

I’d love to read that statute.

Lol. I guess he’s never heard of the interstate commerce clause. He can’t stop anyone from driving into New York and getting off a bus.

That’s what’s already happening. NYC is now trying to pressure the suburbs to pass similar ordinances to keep the buses from getting to the train stations.

Nonsense suit. These people are free to travel to NYC or anywhere else in the country. The buses are also free, with their commercial licenses, to travel the roads of America. It’s not the bus company’s fault that people are exercising their freedoms.

Funny how hizzonner didn’t give a hngs and a half when Texas was paying 100% of the cost.
