The White House blamed congressional Republicans on Wednesday for the national debt surpassing $34,000,000,000,000 for the first time in the nation’s history.

The attempt to shift blame to Republicans absolves President Joe Biden’s leadership while justifying his massive spending policies throughout his 35-month tenure:

2021: $1.9 trillion coronavirus rescue package 2021: $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill 2022: $12 billion in Ukraine aid 2022: $3 billion for facilitating Afghan refugees to the United States

Biden spent but I was always told Congress controls the purse strings. We have a useless Congress.

The drones will parrot this, they always will. But in general, everyone knows Biden just wants to keep spending.

So a ballooning national debt is a problem now?? Maybe Bides should offer a budget that will reduce it and ‘demand’ that the GOP come to the table to reduce spending... still waiting on that invitation.

Manchin as an individual is more responsible for the debt than the whole GOP. But the other Democrats are more responsible than he.

I hope they do. In fact, the republican’s should acknowledge it and embrace it. And say, no more omnibus bills, no more free money on neo-con war machine ventures, etc. Say we’re just following what Biden said was a problem.

It is important to remember that FJB is completely blameless for any bad news. Although some bad news is really good news if you squint your eyes and hold your mouth just right according to the NYT.

Yeah. It was Cheney, Zinger and Romney who paid off all the student loans with taxpayer dollars. They all paid off sh**holes all over the world to empty their septic tanks into America. And the money those dirty Republicans dished out to Zelenskyyyyy. And then somebody had to fork over some money to train 84,000 new IRS bean counters to shoot people. No telling how many tamales Lopez-Opendoor, the Gatekeeper to America, was paid to keep the herds rolling into America from all over the world.

“We have a useless Congress.”

Nah, they learned to buy the vote with the public purse about 50 years ago. They are very useful at buying votes to sustain the 95% - 98% re-election rate.

Almost all of this was executive order spending and was beynd the Congresses purview to stop. Biden just kept writing checks and the media told the public that the Republican Congress was not paying the debt like they were supposed to.

While the House holds the purse strings, Biden’s orgy of trillions in spending always includes “something for the boys.”

A little perk here and there, a cut of this or that federal program,
maybe a percentage........hey, it all adds up.

I blame the republicans too. But not as much as the democrats. After making a bunch of noise, then the republicans are always ready to cave, and give the democrats whatever they want in the end.

It’s all the Republicans fault for spending, but if they try to put in cuts that the demoncraps won’t pass and it turns into a budget fight, then the Republicans are at fault for nearly shutting down the government.

Well then, it’s a great set up for Congress. Joe just said the House prints and spends too much money.

They can stop printing and spending money and say that they’re agreeing with Joe.
