A philosophy student has been found guilty of murdering her boyfriend when she “lost her temper” and drunkenly ran over him with her car, dragging him underneath.
Alice Wood, 23, used her Ford Fiesta as a weapon when she hit partner, Ryan Watson, 24, near the home they shared in Rode Heath, Cheshire, at about 11.30pm on 6 May 2022.
Wood, who had just received a scholarship for a master’s at Cambridge, denied murder and an alternative count of manslaughter as she claimed her boyfriend’s death was a “tragic accident”.
She told her trial at Chester crown court she did not realise he was trapped underneath her car when she drove 158 metres up a road after an argument.
Judge Michael Leeming told her she “may never be released” as he further remanded her in custody. Wood stared downwards as she left the dock.

Emmanuel Kant was a real pissant
And very rarely sober
...
Our drink-driving philosophy student seems to have been taking after him.
It’s a polite way of saying “leftist freak show”.
To Be is To Do
To Do is To Be....Sartre
Do be do be do...Sinatra
Clearly a ten day waiting period on Ford Fiestas is needed.
“How’d she get it to go over the body? I saw a guy one time giving his Fiesta hell trying to get it up the upside of a speed bump.”
LOL
Someone should have told her she Kant do that.
philosopher/killer is a nietzsche vocation, even for a nihilist.
Usually its Nietzsche's "Thus Spake Zarathustra" that sets the young ones off
If she was drunk, it’s possible she didn’t realize it. I didn’t even know you could get a Fiesta to that speed!
Mine would begin to vibrate at 120 km per hour (about 75 MPH). 158 is about 97 mph.
Also, I have never seen people get drunk the way Brits get drunk. And I live in the “hold muh beer” South.
This doesn’t mean she shouldn’t be punished, btw, just that she’s probably not “evil.” She’s just a reflection of her culture, and British upper middle class culture has probably sunk even further than ours.
A lifetime gig with no financial worries is a pretty good deal for a philosophy major.
“You need to view it philosophically.”
Was that wrong? Should she not have done that?
Correction...
She should never be released.
“What car? What fiancé? I have none of that in my construct?”

they dont show the whole incident but it gives you an idea
A late term abortion, sub-contracted. Move along. Procrastination isn’t a crime. It’s just bad manners.
“It is not enough to have a good mind; the main thing is to use it well.” — Rene Descartes
She must have been going through her Nietzsche phase.
