As an Israeli American living outside Jerusalem; as someone who served for 20 years in the Israel Defense Forces, including five years in the Gaza Strip; and as a father whose son is presently serving, I have “skin” in the game of the latest Israel-Hamas war.
And I believe that Israel’s campaign in Gaza must be ended now.
The reason this war began is clear. Hamas is responsible for committing Holocaust-like crimes on Oct. 7. However, the unimaginable horrors for which Hamas must be held responsible do not minimize the culpability of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government for events leading up to Oct. 7, which created the conditions for the attack.

Reminds me about the joke where a Rabbi saves hundreds of foreskins from circumcisions and asks a leather worker to make him something. A week goes by and the worker gives the Rabbi what he was working on. A wallet. The Rabbi said thanks but considering all the foreskins I gave you I was expecting more than a wallet. The leather worker said “No problem”. if you rub that wallet for a few minutes it becomes a suitcase.

In bookstores is a very expensive, beautifully bound in green leather Holy Koran. If one was going to give a gift to someone, like a president, or any other high "ranking" person in society, it is what you would buy.
Every page was in Arabic on the left side, and English on the right. The English side was just like the other modern ones, all the "bad" stuff left out.
I have a non Muslim friend who is fluent in spoken and read Arabic. I asked him to come to the bookstore with me, because I was too cheap to buy the book.
I pointed out the sura I mentioned, and a few others, plus there were some he was familiar with he wanted to check. (he had spent quite a few years in Saudi-Arabia as a civilian). I have never seen the expression that came on his face before. Absolute shock.
He had only seen true versions before too. He said, "My God, they are two different books". I remember those exact words. I don't remember the rest of his comments word for word, but he went on to say, that this explains why so many people in our government have the wrong idea about Islam.
Every non Muslim (infidel) needs to read a true translation of the Holy Koran. Then they might understand why this is happening and why it will never stop happening.
IMHO these are probably the most accurate translations, and they are FREE.

Last I heard many American citizens were kidnapped and 40 are still unaccounted for.

Any Lapse in Israeli security cannot result in blaming anyone in Israel for the Hamas attack. That blame lies 100% squarley on Hamas and Hamas alone - Israel did not provoke the attack, it was 100% Hamas choice.
The author of the article, I imagine out of some pre-existing ant-Netanyahu animus, is looking for a scapegoat and seems to want to fit his own government, not Hamas, into that role.
