Israel 'plans' to divide Gaza into emirates ruled by tribes, rather than political entity

A post-war scenario in Gaza has come to light, according to which the Israeli army could divide the Hamas-governed territory into areas ruled by tribes or clans rather than a single political entity.

According to public broadcaster KAN, the plan was devised by the Israeli army and is expected to be presented to the Cabinet on Tuesday. It stipulates that the Gaza Strip be divided into regions and subregions, with Israel communicating separately with each group for matters including distribution of humanitarian aid.

The proposed scheme may also extend to the West Bank and recommends dividing the territories into emirates, and Israel retaining security control.

Tel Aviv is yet to comment on the report, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said on several occasions that he will not allow the Palestinian Authority, which controls the occupied West Bank, to have any role in ruling Gaza in the post-war period.

The stance contradicts the US position, which has suggested that the Palestinian Authority should rule over Gaza after the end of the conflict, which began after the Oct. 7 cross-border offensive by Hamas.

Pretty smart. Think crips bloods, nortenos, MS-13. As long as they fight each other they won’t be able to keep a secret from their overlords.

We could have done the same thing by creating an independent Kurdistan, something one Senator Biden was right on. There must of been a reason why it wouldn’t work. Make Lebanon 80% christian again. All it takes is another Oct. 7 from up north.

Gaza is the perfect example of necessary use of the 15 minute city.

Tribes and clans of inbred unwanted Arabs. What could possibly go wrong.

Israel is making a horrible strategic decision and compounding other terrible decisions made since the launch of the Gaza “cleansing” campaign. They are becoming the scourge of the rest of the world all the while using America as a cudgel to do it. Neocon lunatics love war-porn so blindly cheer it on, meanwhile America standing in the world declines alone with it Pax Americana empire.

I’m sort of favorable to the glass parking lot approach.

At this point I’m fine if the IDF drives every last one those savages either into Egypt or The Mediterranean.

That’s the only strategic decision that makes any sense at all.

The horrible strategic decision was to ever allow an entity operate on its borders that has “From the River to the Sea” as its motto.

It should have always been Israel’s policy that if you do not recognize Israel’s right to exist you cannot govern, or be involved in the government, of Gaza. PERIOD.

I think after they divide them into tribes, they should have them live underground in the tunnels they built. Give them cell phones to order Door Dash, now Tunnel Dash, so they can eat. That should neutralize the threat.

Hmm, following the British/French colonialist model for dividing up the middle east into Kingdoms, such as Saudi, Jordan, the Gulf states with their “ Emirs”, Morocco, even Iran under a supposed hereditary Shah.
It works until it doesn’t work, to hold the line at an attempt at secular and nationalist political authority rather than theocratic fundamentalist islamism.
Iran showed what happens when it fails

What would you advise them to do at this point?

Certainly an unfathomable idea to maintain a defense against only air strikes, to the neglect of ground attacks.
