Netanyahu must end his futile campaign in Gaza, and Biden must make him do it
The Hill ^ | 01/02/2024 | AMOS GUIORA

Posted on 01/02/2024 7:54:51 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

As an Israeli American living outside Jerusalem; as someone who served for 20 years in the Israel Defense Forces, including five years in the Gaza Strip; and as a father whose son is presently serving, I have “skin” in the game of the latest Israel-Hamas war.

And I believe that Israel’s campaign in Gaza must be ended now.

The reason this war began is clear. Hamas is responsible for committing Holocaust-like crimes on Oct. 7. However, the unimaginable horrors for which Hamas must be held responsible do not minimize the culpability of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government for events leading up to Oct. 7, which created the conditions for the attack.

Israel is our closest ally, their fate is our fate, our fate is theirs. If the muzzies destroy them, we are next.

Another apologist for Hamas.
The leaders of Hamas must be brought to justice and held accountable for what happened on October 7th, plain and simple. If they are not, it will happen again, and again and again. Hunt them down, then stop the flow of money into Gaza and the West Bank until the civilized world can be assured that terrorists aren’t keeping the money to buy weapons, which is exactly what happens every time money goes into the region.
Amos has ‘skin in the game’, yet he’s concerned about shipping? Really???
Stationing one of our many aircraft carriers in the region would more than suffice to quell that crisis. How about pressuring Biden to do that, rather than let the Hamas butchers go free?
If Amos wants the US to do something constructive for the region, then start pressuring Biden to stop giving billions of taxpayer money to Obama’s favorite toy, the government of Iran, which is the source of funding for Hamas and other terrorist organizations.
Poor Amos. Like all left wing government functionaries, he is besotted with credentialism, which for them is a suitable replacement for common sense.
The remaining hostages are almost certainly dead, which is why Hamas broke the most recent ceasefire. There has been no proof of life.
The only option left is to destroy the terrorists, no matter the consequences.

SARCASM ON

Why are the Israelis so intransigent?
Why won't they compromise with HAMAS and end the genocide of their muslim neighbors?
That way they would be seen as good world citizens and be back in the good graces of liberals as well as the US democrat party and United Nations.

HAMAS terrorists want to kill all Israelis but Israel doesn't want them to kill any Israelis.
Israel and Hamas could agree on a win/win compromise and set a specific number somewhere between the two extremes.

Then Israel could bring their soldiers home and just let HAMAS terrorists enter Israel freely to kill the specific agreed-upon number of Israelis every day.
Of course the democrats and the UN would be expected to monitor HAMAS and issue strongly worded rebukes on days they exceed the compromise limit.

There’s nothing futile about eliminating Fakestinian terrorists, their gangs, their arms, their command centers, their staging areas, their indoctrination and training facilities, and their support base. It is necessary and highly beneficial work to be done. There’s Nothing futile at all. The article’s premise is simply and starkly false. Why? To try to protect the Fakestinian terrorists, there’s no other possibility.

He then goes on to explain nothing about what those conditions were.

Everyone has an opinion.

The Hill should go seek the opinions of those parents who had to bury their decapitated and sodomized children.

https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/382267

...The essence of the theory is that Hamas—observing the literal tearing apart of Israeli society—became convinced that a strike would succeed since the core factor of protests was the weakening of the Israel Defense Forces through calls to refuse reserve duty in essential military units, such as air-force pilots and intelligence drone operators...

...From the outset, the Kaplan Force’s social-status profile was Israeli WASP—that is, White, Ashkenazi, Secular and Post-Military. As such, they also included the legacy of defunct political party Mapai’s shallow socialism...

...Many came from kibbutzim and more were longtime IDF officers who were (thanks to the generous pension system of the army and the employment credit they had accrued as pilots, military-industry managers, commerce administrators, politicians), well-connected, and mostly economically, independent...

He sounds just like practically anyone on the American left.

The only difference being that he spent 20 years serving in the IDF (including 5 years in Gaza) and has direct family currently serving. He also correctly identifies the lack of priority the Natanyahu government places on recovering the hostages, not to mention their poor initial response to the attack on Oct 7th.

Not exactly the CV of a mindless American leftist...more like someone with relevant real world experience you might want to listen to...ymmv

“...which created the conditions for the attack.”

I still would like someone to tell me what the conditions Israel set on their land they have forfeited in the past the led to the kidnapping, combat, raping, beheading and burning of non-combatants to include women and children, while using citizens of their own area as sheids so they could continue to hold and torture the people they ripped off. No one yet has proven anything except one, Hamas like most terrorist groups in the middle east want to kill all the Jews in the world.

A question for Amos. You say your son is in the IDF and currently serving in Gaza. If he or your daughter had been amongst the slaughtered on Oct 7th, would you still want to surrender to Hamas? Or maybe you would have a different opinion?

“”As an Israeli American living outside Jerusalem””

Lives outside Jerusalem yet teaches law at the University of Utah?

Apparently he doesn’t have a clue of Biden’s inability to persuade anyone of anything and Netanyahu sure doesn’t need any help from him.

“...which created the conditions for the attack.”

Yes - it really would be helpful if someone came up with specifics instead of getting by on just speaking in general terms. I like specifics - no matter the topic!
