Xi says China ‘will surely be reunified’ in New Year’s speech (Taiwan)

Chinese President Xi Jinping said Sunday that China would “surely be reunified” as he addressed the nation in a speech marking the New Year, state media reported.
“All Chinese on both sides of the Taiwan Strait should be bound by a common sense of purpose and share in the glory of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,” state news agency Xinhua said.

They say it at Chinese New Year, too.
If Xi really wanted to unify with Taiwan he’d allow opposition parties, free speech, elections for leadership, free religion etc…
Then people in Taiwan might consider the possibility.
But communist just want totalitarian one party dictatorship.

Is China really going to fire on a warship? If things get really bad in the U.S. domestically (migrants, crime, mostly peaceful riots, etc.), and our economy and finances are teetering, and our military is depleted sending so much to Ukraine and Israel ... then yes, China might chance firing on our warship.
