PARRISH, Fla. (WFLA) —It was a nightmare before Christmas for Parrish parents after their son was flown 1,200 miles south to Puerto Rico instead of 1,000 miles north to Cleveland.
Logan Lose, 16, waved goodbye to his family last Friday at Tampa International Airport and headed to his flight to visit his mom for the holidays. When he got to the gate, he saw other passengers boarding and got in line.
His father, Ryan said the Frontier Airlines boarding agent checked his son’s baggage, looked at his boarding pass on his phone and told him he could get on the jet.
“Logan said they didn’t scan it,” Ryan Lose said. “They would’ve known it was the wrong flight if they scanned the boarding pass.”
After landing in Puerto Rico, Lose texted his family in a panic.
“Help me please,” he said. “I’m so scared. They told me it was Ohio.”
“My first reaction was panic,” his father said. “He’s panicking, he’s scared, and I can’t be there to keep him safe.”

A True GREAT lesson in life. One the kid will never forget, and it will be his story to tell at cocktail parties. I was put on a bus at the age of 5... with a suitcase to go across town in Hutchinson, Kansas, switching buses...THESE were good life lessons.
At 16, he should have heard the on-board announcement before the plane took off.
Yep. In Tokyo, kindergartners take the trains to school alone, following an app that tells them when and where to get off or switch trains. The worse that happens is that they fall asleep and adult strangers have to shake them awake.
16?!? It’s not only the Biden administration but a couple of generations of major failure why we’re the laughing stock of the world. Any previous generation 16 year old would think it was a lark and make the best of his time there even if he was just stuck in the airport a few hours.
Reminds me of our nephews when they were tweens and teens who were too scared to go into the attached garage to see the new born kittens because, well, oh my gosh, kittens are animals!! And the garage opens to the big bad scary outside!!
He was probably plugged to his phone listening to some garbage or playing a video game.
The father of a minor was able to get a pass to escort him to the gate.
Period.
Further down the story it says that Frontier does not provide unaccompanied minor service, that over 15s fly as regular passengers. So the “kid” was on his own past TSA. And both he and Frontier screwed it up.
Hey, at least they kept the kid in the same general part of the planet.

My sister and I flew to Las Vegas from Denver when we really young. I think I might have been eight and my sister would have been six. We were treated like friggin royalty!!! It was awesome.
Ya, 16 y.o.? when I was 16 I used to disappear for the weekend. nobody batted an eye. did brake jobs for my dad, had a job, worked until 2 am. My parents rarely asked what I was doing.
They did that kid a favor if you ask me 😏

Well, a funny thing happened and it’s pretty much your last name.
See, what happened was......
At 16, he should have looked at the flight information boards and gone to the right gate to begin with. I knew how airports worked a lot younger than that, in fact way back when the information was posted on actual boards and not TV screens.
No kidding. I’d rather be in Puerto Rico than Cleveland. ..ANY DAY !
16 and “so scared” and the father “can’t keep him safe”? And you know they went to the press about this. That family is missing an “r” at the end of their name. Kid could have legally driven from Tampa to Cleveland by himself. I would have loved a road trip like that at 16. Dorks.

Every flight I have taken in my long and unillustrious life began with the announcer saying, “This flight is scheduled to land in Hooterville, if your destination is anywhere else please contact a flight attendant immediately.” Among the many errors of the airline, this one is on him, he should have been listening.
16 year olds can drive and are plenty old enough to be accountable for actions.
This is a very stupid 16 year old. Don’t trust him with a car or a phone.
And be sure you don’t hire him!
