Sometimes you have to destroy democracy to save democracy.
“What we are seeing right now is the all-out assault on democracy,” Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold claimed in 2021.
“Everything we do every single day to ensure the American people can elect, freely choose their election officials,” the chair of the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State held forth in 2022. “We believe that democracy literally is on the ballot.”
In 2023, democracy is no longer on the ballot in Colorado because Griswold, who had spent every single year warning about an “assault on democracy”, launched an actual assault on democracy to ensure that people in Colorado would not be able to freely vote in elections.
After Colorado’s Democrat justices ruled that, on their say-so, former President Trump couldn’t appear on the ballot in Colorado, the state’s GOP proposed to move to a caucus system.
And Griswold responded by warning that the Colorado GOP couldn’t change its own primary so that voters can’t actually vote for the candidate they choose, only those that Democrats choose.
But as the Mills Brothers sang, “you always hurt the one you love.” And sometimes you love democracy so much that you have to kill it to save democracy from itself.
Some Democrats define any opposition as an attack on democracy. And when they end democracy, they’re really “upholding democracy” so high up so that the voters can’t get their grubby fingers on it.

It’s just a way for the government telling you who they will allow you to vote for.

“Once again, a tolerant and compassionate Democrat 'saved democracy.' ”
Statement by Democrat Sen Ben Cardin on LGBTQ Pride Month.
“In order to guarantee protection for LGBTQ civil rights, I have joined my fellow senators in sponsoring the Equality Act (S. 1006). This federal legislation would rightfully define sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes...... alongside race, religion, age, and sex.”
WishPost "Op Ed”
"Thankfully, Democrat Sen Cardin protected the rights of his tax-paid aide, Aidan Maese-Czeropski, to have anal sex in a Senate hearing room."
Marxist Dems may be successful. Maybe the Marxist Dems are paying off many Current Republicans to take early retirement or just not run for another term. That would give the Dems control of both the House and Senate so the illegals would be given amnesty and become Marxist Dem voters. The whole reason for open borders is for the Dem vote by illegals.
Several states won’t allow a primary on the dimrat side. They have decided that biden will be the only democrat they can vote for. Democrat voters have no choice anymore.
We had to destroy the village to save it right???
It’s working in Ukraine, isn’t it?
Rush had been predicting this YEARS ago!
Fixed it.
The writer needs a good editor. Let him know I am available. For a price.
Democracy = Communist Dictatorship.
That’s my beef with open primaries in SC. Why do state Republicans allow Democrats to pick our candidates in primaries if not to collaborate with our enemies. Pisses me off.
IIRC the Bolsheviks called this “democratic centralism.”
Will do.
By eliminating hundreds of thousands of Democrats, the Republic can be saved
The book 1984 never goes out of date with the democrats in charge.
They do not want to “eliminate elections”.
What they want is to make sure all elections feature intense competition, with the “two sides” enraged with each other, as long as it does not matter to the interests of the “donor community” who wins.
Romney vs. Obama is an excellent recent example. Remember how much you cared? How do you feel about the emotions you had back then, in November 2012, now?
But it’s not just the US. All over the “West”, Australia, the UK, Ireland, France, the US, and (especially) Germany, you have the “Mrs. Robinson Phenomenon” - laugh about it, shout about it, when you’ve got to choose, ANYWAY YOU LOOK AT IT, YOU LOSE.
Why is this? How did we get here, and what (if anything) can we do about it?
Up to 60% of people in America, the UK, and Ireland want things both parties are devoted to making sure they don’t get.
The core concept is the German “Grundgesetz”, or Basic Law, imposed by the US on what became West Germany and, after 1991, on the whole country. The idea of the Basic Law is “democracy with guardrails”, in case somehow the people make the wrong choice.
This was invented by survivors of the FDR administration, and I’m sure preventing the reversal of the New Deal was very much on their minds, in addition to Germany preventing a return of You Know Who. It would have been impossible in 1946-48 to impose such a regime on the US (and, TBH, the Republicans of the day didn’t give them too much to worry about), but if you look at every move the Deep State has made since Dallas and Watergate, you can clearly see the outlines of an (illegal and unconstitutional) US Basic Law at work.
Elections are fine, good in fact - as long as nothing can be changed and the revolution cannot be stopped.
