Former President Donald Trump has been asking allies and advisers for their thoughts about Nikki Haley as a potential vice presidential candidate, two sources familiar with the conversations tell CBS News.
The feedback from the MAGA crowd regarding putting Haley on the ticket if Trump wins the GOP nomination has been overwhelmingly negative, according to these GOP sources. Politico first reported that Trump allies are working to quash the possibility of a Trump-Haley ticket.

I'm talking about original intent. That intent, documented in Federalist #68, discussed the fear of foreigners (or "creatures of their own") being elevated to the office of the President.
Remember that they didn't have parties in 1789. Parties didn't begin to form until after the Whiskey Rebellion during George Washington's first term. The Adams-Jefferson election of 1800 was probably the first real party-centric election.
The first nominating convention was for only one party in 1808. By 1824, Congressional caucuses nominated their party's candidate. From 1831 onwards, the congressional nominating caucus was replaced with national presidential nominating conventions.
My point is simply that the Framers, not having perceived of dominant parties, expected prominent citizens to be chosen as Electors, and the Electors would do the vetting.

Nikki Haley should be named Ambassador to Ukraine.
PRESIDENT TRUMP, nix NIKKI as VP!
It would be nothing but copathons here if he picked her. There would be a quick pivot from her being bad, to a genius pick. He certainly needs her swamp money to help win the election, though that is probably out of reach anyway.
99% sure this is fake news. On the off chance that it isn’t, I’m 99% sure he’s trolling Nikki, like he did with Mitt Romney.
NO and NO!! I would much prefer Vance as Vice President!
NO and NO!! I would much prefer Vance as Vice President!
Matt Gaetz would be an intriguing choice.
>>”Always take Trump seriously, but never literally.”
Good advice.
I'd also point out that it's been years since the GOP has selected a running mate in a presidential election who was a former competitor for the nomination against the nominee. I believe 1980 was the last time that happened. I'm no fan of the GOP leadership but I believe this is a wise approach to selecting a running mate.
Kristi Noem brings so much more to the table than Haley (or any other GOP contender in this race) -- and she already endorsed Trump months ago.
Uh, that’s a big, “No,” on that idea.
Nikki doesn’t have it.
She is not as poor a pick as Pence, but damn close!
I’ll sit out the election.
I hope you are right!
Kristi Noem? Now your talking!
Yep. Another Deep State push for her.
Yep. See my post #76. I'm gonna LMAO if he picks her. I'm gonna LMAO even more if for some reason, he has to drop out of the race and Haley is the person he endorses.
But I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's my prediction that should Trump return to the White House, million-to-one shot that this may be, he's going to thrown his MAGA base under the bus and go full libtard.
Why?
Simple. He's a lame duck. He doesn't need his base anymore. He doesn't even really like these uncouth Walmart-shopping rubes. What he DOES need, however, are the Democrats to throttle back on the lawfare that's damaging his business empires, --the very business empires that he'd one day like to pass down to his children.
So he'll cut deal after deal with the Democrats, give them what they want in exchange for chilling out on the legal issues.
And Democrats being just as unscrupulous as Trump is will be more than willing to throw Fani Willis under the bus as well if it means an assault weapons ban and perhaps a stealth David Souter-type judge to replace Clarence Thomas.
you and several million others ..
Cbs “ news” is a terrorist organization.
It’s from See BS. Nuff said.
