Rudy Giuliani has filed for bankruptcy, days after being ordered to pay $148 million in a defamation lawsuit brought by two former election workers in Georgia who said his targeting of them led to death threats that made them fear for their lives.
In his filing Thursday, the former New York City mayor listed nearly $153 million in existing or potential debts, including close to a million dollars in tax liabilities, money he owes his lawyers and many millions of dollars in potential legal judgements in lawsuits against him. He estimated his assets to be between $1 million and $10 million.
The biggest debt is the $148 million he was ordered to pay a week ago for making false statements about the election workers in Georgia stemming from the 2020 presidential contest.

That too.
Those two are nothing but puppets who are too stupid to think of doing this on their own. For sure, they are low level criminals, but the ones pulling their strings are far worse.
What a disgrace. This should never have happened to America’s Mayor!
Everyone should look at Russia’s case against Alexei Navalny, Putin’s opponent in the last Russian Presidential election
If you switched the names and locations, you would think they were talking about Democrats, Trump and USA in 2020
unmonitored ballot drop boxes
voting machines under the control of government party
arrest / bankrupting / lawfare against lawyers
harassment of campaign staff
ridiculous court cases brought by government supporters
charges of insurrection
The DC hypocrisy is sickening.
Damn shame
this is just another shot at confiscating all private property for communist utopia.
At least he still has lots of riches and rewards in heaven.
indeed, all the world saw what rudy saw..
“ statements about the election workers in Georgia stemming from the 2020 presidential contest”
Did not DOJ, DHS, FBI direct all of us to
” see something say something” ?
spit.
You’re right of course.
Giuliani said they had eight attorneys to his one.
The Rat theft machine went all out to protect this one. They know what they did there, and Omerta is the byword.
It ain’t over yet. Appeals ahead, but the idiot ass Republicant party needs to get in the game or get steamrolled.
It’s not working.
Trump is the 6/5 betting fav and they’re barely clinging to power despite 90% of industry/institution/billionaires colluding and conspiring in their favor.
Trump is more popular than ever.
It is already hurting them.
Obviously, Rudy Giuliani doesn’t have 148 million dollars, what will likely happen depending on if he filed a Chapter 7 or 11 Bankruptcy.
In Chapter 7, everything gets liquidated and is prorated to his creditors, in Chapter 11 a payment plan is setup over a period of years and Rudy would be required to make payments to the creditors, usually over a 7-year period.
A Bankruptcy Trustee will be appointed which was my wife’s job for over 30 years, the Trustee in a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy will sell off all of Rudy’s assets and they prorate the money to his creditors.
There is more to it than that but essentially Rudy will lose everything, and his creditors will get pennies on the dollar. In the end he will get his debts discharged and can start over with his life with no debts.
It’s not really a fine as in a government agency fining someone, it’s a Civil Judgement which is not part of that 8th Amendment.
There needs to be several deaths for causing his abortion of law and order
Since when can a Court make you a pauper?
If Rudy was smart he would have already moved his assets into his son’s name!!
Stuffing ballots into machines more than once in the middle of the night is what got them death threats.
Frankly, they SHOULD be afraid for their lying, cheating lives.
Sue me ladies.
They wouldn’t believe the proof when presented to them.
People are still not afraid to support Trump in the privacy of the voting booth, and if that holds true (and if the rogue courts don’t remove him from the ballot), their evil lawfare plan will ultimately fail.
It's kinda funny. The plaintiffs in Jones' case realized that they weren't going to see a penny of the $900 quadzilliontrillion they were awarded and in the meantime, the lawyer bills started arriving in the mail.
So they asked for a settlement. $80 million.
Jones counter offered with $55 million paid in annual installments of $5.5 million over ten years.
Now they're going back and forth. It looks like Jones will cough up some money but not so much that he'll be rendered destitute.
