Artificial intelligence developed to model written language can be utilized to predict events in people's lives. A research project from DTU, University of Copenhagen, ITU, and Northeastern University in the US shows that if you use large amounts of data about people's lives and train so-called 'transformer models', which (like ChatGPT) are used to process language, they can systematically organize the data and predict what will happen in a person's life and even estimate the time of death.

tinker toy bullshit...they do not predict anything...it is the actuarial tables which “predict”. Historical data where if properly used can suggest rough estimates.

You say that now and here but I think you don’t really mean it. Given the opportunity, people will insist on knowing, drawn to the uncertainty like moths to a flame.

That’s easy. Mom could predict my future with amazing accuracy if I didn’t clean my room.
To: FarCenter
The danger here is that people who don't understand AI will mean it becomes a personal "fortune teller" for the individual. Not true. It uses massive amounts of data to predict how massive groups of people react to certain events. Big difference extrapolating from the masses to the individual.

Yep. Actuarials predict that the older you are, the older you are likely to be when you die.

if you are a inner city male with multiple drug offenses and arrests and have been associated with gangs and come from a poor family living in the projects your chances of dying in the next 4 years go way.
That is all something like this is showing.

True. Also sounds a lot like warm reading (not quite cold reading, not quite hot reading, but just right...) All we need it to say is “I’m seeing someone with the letter ‘M’ in their name...”
