Leaders of the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM) — which openly calls for the Lone Star State to secede from the United States and become an independent nation again — appear to have surpassed the threshold to put a secession ballot initiative on the 2024 Republican primary ballot this March..

Yes———40 fewer electoral votes for a GOP candidate.
Irreplaceable. Dems would celebrate.
Make sure Sheila Jackson Lee and Eyepatch go with it
I believe the problem of secession was settled back in 1861-1865 by war, and a Supreme Court ruling in 1869 that NO STATE can secede from the US.

If Texas did secede, then they would be in a position to kick out every single RINO in Texas, then move militarily to remove all criminal illegal aliens and secure their borders. If they did all that, I’d move there.
“I’m stayin in. Let’s vote on kicking the deep Blue states OUT of the union.”
NO! We kick the blue cities out.
History has many precedents for city states.
I’ve lived there twice while in Air Force. Can do it again.
but keep their land ...
Fr is from California.
People can move.
No, ship every leftist out of the US.
How are you going to ship the Californians out of California?
Folks, do your homework.
This didn’t happen overnight and it isn’t going to happen overnight. The TEXIT movement if very well organized and they are doing these movements incrementally and thoughtfully. They are not making this up, but are following a plan guided by experts.
They already know they have the votes. They are seeking to inform and influence through the entire process, rather than uncork a sudden Texas-wide referendum. They truly would rather the citizens of the United States to come to their senses, but in case they don’t: this is a move towards self-preservation and self-determination.
They are not screwing around.
I couldn’t think of a bigger waste of time
All leftists in the US. A man can dream.
I believe that it is impossible because Congress has to approve.
The Central Government is the problem, no matter who is in charge by fact or appearance. It is hopelessly corrupt and run by a million bureaucrats that cannot be removed by electoral means. It is kept safe by an increasingly dangerous police apparatus.
A new government and/or country needs to be formed, merely "kicking out the blue states" will not work. The federal government as it is IS the capitol of 'blue America', with red states as tax vassals and the breadbasket. We have no representation because as soon as they get sworn in, they become compromised, willingly or otherwise.
Secession isn't an act of petulant rebellion. At this point it is an act of self-preservation.
TEXIT now!
How many of those states would otherwise go for Trump/Republicans?
Martin Armstrong was right, again.
“”If Texas secedes, then they cannot vote in federal elections.””
mmm, kind of the point as The Republic of Texas (luv saying that!) no longer cares what fed.gov does.
If Texas goes they are going to show the way to a LOT of other States.
As the states left complete the sprint to their destruction, normal American Citizens will flood into the new Free States taking their work ethic and tax revenue.
Prosperity will shine from the Free States and communism will prevail in the prog states.
THEN you will see the progs building walls in mere weeks to keep the prisoners, uhh, workers from escaping.
Eventually Washington D.C. will become a drive-through museum where the progs have a parade once a year.
You know, like Red Square...
