Mike Johnson's Jan. 6 Tape Admission Raises Questions [face-blurring]
Newsweek ^ | Dec. 5, 2023 | Natalie Venegas

House Speaker Mike Johnson's admission on Tuesday that the unreleased January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot video footage will have faces of those involved blurred is raising questions across social media...

Johnson released an initial 90 hours of footage in November, shared by the Committee on House Administration, but two weeks later no further footage has been released...

"As you know, we have to blur some of the faces of persons who participated in the events of that day because we don't want them to be retaliated against and be charged by the DOJ," Johnson said.

In a statement emailed to Newsweek, Raj Shah, deputy chief of staff for communications for Johnson, clarified and said: "Faces are to be blurred from public viewing room footage to prevent all forms of retaliation against private citizens from any non-governmental actors. The Department of Justice already has access to raw footage from January 6, 2021."..

Since the release of the footage, many Republicans, particularly supporters of Trump aligned with the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, have claimed the videos will help confirm their narrative that the events that transpired on January 6 were not a violent storming of the Capitol building in response to Trump's 2020 election loss to Joe Biden...

The weaponized DOJ already has the tapes, un-redacted, to retaliate against anyone they want.

And so does Mike Johnson and presumably other R's in Congress. The concern is to not provide unredacted tapes to the street punks who might want to settle scores.

The only real issue here is whether Johnson is being thwarted in his effort to determine who are feds or contractors.

“because we don’t want them to be retaliated against and be charged by the DOJ,” Johnson said.”

As if the DOJ doesn’t already have access to the unblurred version of this. This is ridiculous.

This one-sided video business where the video producers may use the material to prosecute, but the subject has not given explicit permission to be recorded is a huge can of worms. The government can use it to hide their own frimes, and prosecute common citizens for lawful assembly and protest.

Johnson passed Pelosi’s budget. He fully funded the FBI. Faces are blurred because members of the public will recognize government agents provocateur and Antifa members. Johnson is a tool of the Deep State. Maybe his family was threatened or he has been a con man all along, but he is not anti-Deep State.

He wouldn’t have got his leadership role if he weren’t compromised through and through.

The Deep State is Lucy and conservatives/constitutionalists keep thinking this time they are really going to boot the football.

There’s a very well funded NGO, Sedition Hunters, that crowdsources the videos to spot and dox ANYONE at J6.

https://seditionhunters.org/

They find and dox us, track them through the day, reverse lookup our phone numbers, buy geolocation data, and hand it to the FBI on a platter.

They’re a massive organization, with thousands of volunteers. Evil autistic centipedes.

Spread the word.

"As you know, we have to blur some of the faces of persons who participated in the events of that day because we don't want them to be retaliated against and be charged by the DOJ," Johnson said.

Huh.

Coupla things.

One, starting a sentence with "as you know" is a well-known rhetorical tactic intended to make the listener feel subconsciously positive towards what you say next. Sort of like, "everybody knows/agrees on what I'm about to say, and if you DISagree, there's something wrong with you."

Two, the Speaker of the House actually says, out loud, that the Dept of Justice is "retaliating" against people - i.e., American citizens. And.... nobody is supposed to have a problem with that?

Which means he can't win.

If he blurs the faces, then he's protecting informants; if he doesn't, he's exposing people to arrest.

The DOJ has faces without names.

Members of the public are scouring J6 videos and turning names over to the DOJ. They put names to faces, and then the FBI makes arrests.

The people on the right who know this salient piece of information are urging caution in releasing the video. The people on the right who are unaware of this are urging its release.

And Mike Johnson knows he can't win either way; half the crowd here will call him an a**hole regardless.

The feds received help from a private group of leftwing activists with a goofy name in identifying people in the edited vids the J6 committee released.

It is probably this same group Johnson is concerned about should they peruse as yet unreleased video.

The video confirms it all. Just release them all.... we dont need faces. You can see what happened from the small sample of video thats been released. It clearly displays the police starting the riot- not the protesters. It shows the police facilitating the infiltration of the capitol. Its shows undercover police congratulating uniformed officers...and of course we have Ray Epps at both breaches...lol.
