Florida Democrats Cancel Primary Election, Automatically Handing Biden the State's Votes

Florida Democrats have decided they just don’t need to hold a presidential primary this year, automatically awarding President Joe Biden the state’s 250 delegates.

Thursday marked the deadline for Florida Democrats and Republicans to submit their lists of approved candidates for their receptive primaries. According to Politico, Biden was the only name on the list for his party despite other candidates running against him.

Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN.) took to social media to express his fury with the Democratic Party, vowing to challenge “this absolute nonsense.”

“What happened in Florida yesterday is a tragedy and a travesty. The Florida Democratic Party – just a handful of people – decided to disenfranchise millions of Democratic voters in Florida by saying, ‘We’re not gonna have a presidential primary,’” Phillips said in a video. “I’m running for president; there are others running for President as Democrats, and this is the kind of stuff that happens in Tehran, not in Tallahassee. We’ve got to do something about this.”

In other words, the Left is determined not to let the 4.4 million Florida Democrats have a say in the party’s 2024 nominee.

Phillips called his party’s actions a “blatant act of electoral corruption,” demanding Biden to “condemn and immediately address” it.

The Florida Democratic Party is gifting all 250 state delegates to Joe Biden without a single vote. We won’t stand for it.

The Democratic Party is acting as if no one is challenging Biden regardless if he will most likely be the party’s nominee. Despite Phillips only polling at 3.5 percent, with Marianne Williamson at nine percent in national polls, Democrats are still expected to uphold the country’s election integrity process.

“You have to jump through a lot of hoops to get on the ballot in states across the country, but Florida takes the cake: they won’t even let you try!” Williamson wrote, arguing the secretary of state is allowing the party to “DECIDE who it wants to be on the ballot.”

Williamson called it absurd at the “unconstitutional display” of how an “authoritarian state works.”

“People are told they can vote but are informed by someone else who their options will be,” she continued.

Well you won’t believe what Florida is doing now… You have to jump through a lot of hoops to get on the ballot in states across the country, but Florida takes the cake: they won’t even let you try! The FL Sec. of State has decided to simply allow the Florida… — Marianne Williamson (@marwilliamson) November 30, 2023

I thought that if a political party depended on the state to run its primaries then the party had to follow the state rules.

Democrats are still expected to uphold the country’s election integrity process.

After long deliberations in smoke-filled backrooms the DemonRats decided that
the only way they could uphold integrity in the election process was to cancel elections.

It was a rare moment of clear self-reflection on the left.

Frankly, the political parties themselves should bear the cost of the primaries, not the taxpayers in general, especially in “closed primary” States!

Second order effect of this: the party lawyers, activists, and hangers on in Florida are now freed up to do stuff in other states.

This is the real power that Dems have realized and weaponized in tactics like embracing early and mail-in voting. If you’ve already gotten a certain segment of your votes locked in early, you can move on to get more votes and push your influence elsewhere.

Biden will be out of office soon.

Will Newsom or someone else get the Florida convention nod without asking the voters in a primary? A backroom deal?

Democrats follow state primary rules?

They don't even follow state election laws.

It took them two weeks to come up with the tally in Iowa during the 2020 caucus. In a caucus the numbers are out there for the public to see. People don’t vote in private. A voting
population that is as diverse as Florida’s would be hard to conceal any fraud in a primary. So they are just doing away with it, and hoping the democrats will jump over and vote in the republican primaries.

I am the elected Judge of Elections in my district, which is # 8 out of 161 in my County in terms of registered voters.

Me and my large staff cost at least $2800.00 each and every election; and with PA being a “closed party” state that cost should be borne proportionately by the parties since this election is purely for THEIR convenien

Maine has six Republicans and two Democrats. I cannot find the list I saw earlier today, But I think is Biden and Dean Philips for the Dems

And Trump, Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, Doug Burgum, Vivek Ramaswamy, Donald Trump and one other.

Apparently both the parties want to go to an anointment system.

It avoids unpleasant scrutiny and actually having to present a program.

This was probably motivated by how disastrously their golden boy, Newsom, did in his debate with DeSantis the other night.

Seems a lot of states do not have primary requirements. The party determines.
Also, in a lot of states, the party chairs determine who gets to be on the ballots.
Some states require a SOS to place a name on a ballot.

so, why isn’t Fla. Repubs doing the same with Pres. Trump.

Biden is doing such a great job, there’s no reason to have other candidates. In fact, there’s no reason to have an election at all. Anyone who disagrees should be thrown in jail. /s

“...then the party had to follow the state rules.”

I seem to recall that several states did the voting in 2020 contrary to what was in their state constitutions. Perhaps it was mail-in vs the normal public voting machines. Democrat majority states of course. Constitution and rules? More like guidelines I guess.

The Democrat party is a criminal enterprise.

And RINO's are their accomplices.

It’s his party. Don’t complain. He wanted them, joined them.

Shifting Democrats to vote in the Republican primary, may be the objective.

At last some good news. This is a big step toward Super Gluing Crime Boss Joey’s wrinkled ash to the rodents’ nomination and making their sham convention a fun watch.
