‘sanitary napkin’? Does anybody use that term?...................
I heard that term but I have not heard it in recent years. Perhaps that term had fallen into disuse.
Well here we see Kathy H. Is so focused on nonsense. There is such a fear of the left in this country. There is such a fear of offending the so-called transgender peoples , because a tiny number of women are biological females but identify as male.
So we are compelled to twist the language into pretzels and use terminology that does not suggest that females are the ones who menstruate.
I’ve heard similar terminology used, such as in referring to pregnancy ,some liberals talk about “people who are pregnant” rather than “pregnant women”. These people are so afraid of offending a tiny tiny number of people who are pushing some liberal cause. It’s amazing how our culture has shifted this way.
I’ve always used the terms “KOTEX or TAPONS” unless my wife gives me a specific brand name.
Always knew what they were for and never had any embarrassment buying them either for my wife or my mother.
Just as a matter of interest; they make great battle dressings, both types sterile and packable.
Even had my mother send me a box in 1969 for me and my fire team.
YES, there were some jokes about it until our Corpsman told our squad that they were better than our issued battle dressings.
My dad went to dinner with another US Navy officer at the club in Australia. His dinner mate asked the waitress for a "napkin". She recoiled in horror and left the table. A moment later a local educated him. What he wanted was a "serviette". A "napkin" is used in the ladies room.
“sanitary napkin’? Does anybody use that term?...................”
Im my callow youth it was “on the rag” not “on the sanitary” napkin”.
