Christie blames Trump for nationwide spike in Islamophobia, antisemitism

Chris Christie partly blamed his onetime friend Donald Trump for the spike in antisemitism and Islamophobia across the country.

The former New Jersey governor posited that Trump’s language has emboldened others to act hatefully.

“When you show intolerance towards everyone, which is what he does, you give permission as a leader for others to have their intolerance come out,” Christie told CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.

“And that’s been going on for quite some time, not just with Donald Trump, but with university professors on some of our most elite campuses in this country.”

Insinuating that Trump’s “intolerance” somehow rubbed off on the far left and goaded them into antisemitism is ludicrous.

That's certainly true, and antisemitic language and behavior has been a part of extreme leftist ideology for a long time.

What a fool. The rise in anti-Semitism is due to Muslim supporters of Hamas and their left-wing apologists (plus maybe some Chinese stirring of the pot).

As for Islamophobia... If that’s defined as an irrational fear of Islam, it’s on the decline — because Hamas has proven that that fear is entirely rational (as if anybody with a brain didn’t already know that).
