People advancing purchases in order buy before the prices go up (again) helps fuel inflation. But it is inevitable.

I’ve seen prices on many items rise 20% over the last two years.

a further indication that price-conscious consumers want to spend on the best deals and are hunting for those deals online

further indication that gas prices are up, stores can be dangerous places with looters galore and that the lockdowns worked

I guess I’m not reading this the same way the rest of you are. This is not about an increase in consumer spending, it’s about an increase in e-commerce spending. More online shopping and fewer in-store purchases.

It took 25 years to finance the 10 billion dollar Webb space telescope. Shoppers spent that in one day buying Chinese junk.

So, the news?

Actual purchases are down 3% but the cost has risen due to 11% inflation

Fun with reporting numbers

I’ve been away from home and putting items in my “save for later” on Amazon so I get notices on price changes. The price changes are nearly daily on a lot of items. Go up and down by a little and a lot. Never realized prices changes that frequently on so may items.
