Democrats in Virginia on Tuesday night retained their majority in the state Senate — a blow to Republicans who were hoping to achieve total control of the state legislature and boost Gov. Glenn Youngkin in his final two years in office.
The GOP also lost control of Virginia’s House of Delegates, with Democrats set to win at least 51 seats in the 100-member lower chamber.

Touche!
To the degree Romney’s niece is destroying the Republican Party, I salute her. By crippling Big Bird Youngkin last night, she did more to better American politics than I could ever hope to do by posting on this forum. Carry on mama and don’t change a thing!
They are mostly Cruz supporters, from what I can see.
Yesterday was the first time I didn’t vote in local election. .
Why bother? Everyone cheats, if not personally, then by reprogramming voting machines. So far, in our reasonably safe, conservative city, the extremely creepy Dem candidates for mayor and city council prez are far ahead of incumbents who actually support the police.
Now that’s funny! Millions of voters support Trump and a lousy 8% support DeSantis and you think Trump supporters post propaganda. Well, you are probably right about you not being paid to support DeSantis on this board, but don’t you feel foolish doing it for free when the others are getting paid? Maybe you guys should look at what you are doing to poor Ron’s chances since he started out at 34% and just keeps losing more and more each day.
Maybe you should explain to him his poll numbers are supposed to go up and not down.
Trump wasn’t running in Virginia. In fact he’s not on any ballot this year. Nor did he endorse any candidate running in Virginia this year. But your unique insight into the psyche of Democrat voters in Virginia has determined that this was a referendum on Trump and not, say, a referendum on Youngkin? (who has spent his political career distancing himself from Trump).
Sounds like TDSers want dems to cheat again in 2024, so they can post post here blaming Trump 24/7.
Obama approves of Biden's policies. In fact he or his gang probably created many of them.
Have you always been an O cheerleader?
“…focus on winning hearts and minds in order to keep abortion rare.”
Agree. The founders would of course be pleased that the matter now is in the hands of each individual state—though I’m equally sure they would be dismayed and sickened at the totality of the abortion carnage and that passing “laws” have proved wholly unsatisfactory in stopping abortion.
Politics is downstream from culture. Change the individual mind and you change culture; change culture and you change politics.
I can appreciate that Obama was very good at getting Republicans elected.
Youngkin has been in politics for only a couple of years. He does not know what's going on in those competitive districts. He relied on the advice of longtime, very good Republicans from those districts. The two candidates in the most competitive districts, whose victories were essential to Republican majorities, were John Stirrup for the house and Juan Pablo Segura for the senate. I know the people who cultivated them, all very top-notch people. They were both strong candidates. Stirrup lost by only 800 votes. Segura lost by about 5,000, which did come as a bit of a surprise.
Neither Trump nor the Republican Party nor the Republican Parties in Name Only . . .
Have an organization that is consolidating all voter fraud vs. vote integrity matters.
Endless cynicism is the hallmark of losers
Can you keep a secret, hcmama?
I'm really happy :)
The Lt. Governor of Virginia publicly rejected Trump last November, saying it’s time to “move on” as a party
Glenn Youngkin has completely distanced himself from Trump

Save us the eye test and tell us what you want to say.
Posting hot takes from a double-digit IQ moron like Johnny Maga is just so sad.
The dude is a punchline
Has there been any suggestion of hanky panky?
The simple basis for his stance was that the 14th Amendment clearly defines people as those "born or naturalized thereof."
Scalia made a lot of bonehead statements and decisions. Like the 2nd amendment did not prohibit reasonable gun laws. He failed to define reasonable or what make no law really means. He also decided that burning our flag was protected speech, has the court also said burning a gay pride flag is protected speech? I doubt the founders would have ever believed that the meaning of no, is or human would ever come into question. The sad thing is that people on Free Republic seem to have trouble with those words as well.
Bu the way "born or naturalized thereof." describes a citizen not a human and that apparently is wrong as well, since clearly we don't know what a citizen is any longer either.
You know what, we see a lot of things that could never here, happen right before our eyes on a regular basis at least I sure do.
I work with the VA election integrity team. We all believe there is hanky panky. When in control of the government, VA Democrats enacted laws making it very easy to cheat. As examples, ballot harvesting is totally legal and no form of identification whatsoever needs to be shown in order to get a live ballot. There is little that can be done to fix things without having control of the legislature. It’s beyond frustrating.
