The Houthi’s actually ARE the Yemeni army, and they’re extremely well armed, with long range ballistic missiles, etc.
Turkey has been nuts lately and I think there is a possibility that they will encourage this. They’re a NATO member of course, but all that means is that we have given them tons of advanced weaponry and tech and they say thank you and go their own Islamist way.
Their head imam just last week raised the “sword of war” in the former Hagia Sophia cathedral which is now a huge mosque.
So I think this is more dangerous than people here think.

Terrorists don’t qualify for war, just criminality. And even if it is a terrorist group in a country it doesn’t mean that country is at war unless they represent the country and not a religious sect. It doesn’t look good when they are not tossed out of the country, but they are not the country just like we support Israel and we aren’t the country either.

IDF veterans have attested to actual animals crossing the Gaza barriers would be investigated in minutes by armed men in Jeep-type vehicles. And fighter jets launched in as little as a minute, armed helicopters nearly as fast. Yet hours passed, and the heroes were acting independently.
Did something change, and when? Leftist senior military and intelligence in Israel seem to have been derelict, devoting their time to insurrection against the Netanyahu government instead of their jobs. The democratically elected Left in Israel is already dead. Will the Deep State Leftists cling to power via the unaccountable Judiciary and bureaucrats, including senior military and intelligence? What I’ve repeatedly tried to impress upon FReepers in the 8 years since I returned from Iraq is that Western societies and peace are exceptional anomalies both geographically and historically. Warfare, conquest and plunder is the way of the world and has been since before recorded history.
Most people are blind and bigoted and refuse to accept that their worldview isn’t reality or justifiable. Smartphones really kicked the phenomena into hyperdrive. Nowadays Ppl just ‘narrate their reality’ irrespective of facts or consequences.
Now that Might=Right is seemingly acceptable to many in the West together with insurmountable debt means (to me) the future of the West is bleak and brutal. Western tradition will soon to be forfeit.
