Suspected Maine mass shooter Robert Card is a deer hunter “capable of hiding for a long time if he doesn’t want to be caught,” according to his family’s longtime neighbor.
Card, 40, is the subject of a massive manhunt over a Wednesday night shooting spree that left 18 people dead and 13 others wounded at multiple sites.
Rick Goddard, 44, lives less than a mile down the road from Card’s parents in Bowdoin, where the suspect grew up, and has known the family for decades. “It’s his stomping ground. I mean, he grew up here. He knows the area really well. He’s capable of hiding for a long time if he doesn’t want to be caught. There’s a lot of places you can be in the woods and never be seen,” Goddard told The Post.

Anyone here remember Eric Rudolph?
L
He can hide but he can’t run.
I remember that Brian Laundrie was supposed to be a survivalist as well and they found his body soon after he had his final reunion with his parents.
I don’t think he has long to live, assuming that he’s still alive.
Maine is a remote state. He can easily cross into Canada too, where few cops will be looking for him.
Apparently, he's going wherever the voices in his head tell him to.
Law enforcement should check the local Subway sandwich shop:

Or simply change his name to "Senor Illegale" and head to New York City for taxpayer funded food and shelter.
I thought about Eric Rudolph as well, but Rudolph did not have to survive a Maine winter in the woods.
Yup .... he eluded capture & was ‘out there’ for 5 years. He was eventually arrested (by a rookie police officer, no less) looking through a dumpster at 4 a.m.
We’re headed into winter .... surviving a Maine winter in the woods would be difficult. Card may know the woods well, but if he doesn’t have some sort of shelter/provisions pre-planned & stashed out there, he’ll likely end up dumpster diving as well ....
He may realize that the chip in his brain allows law enforcement to track him
There was a cop killer in NE Pennsylvania who hid in the Pocono mountain woods for nearly six weeks during late autumn about ten years ago.
As more and more leaves shed and as the weather grew more hostile his cover diminished and eventually the Pennsylvania State Police took him alive.
This case has some similarities.
This man has murdered several innocent people.
He needs to be put down asap.
That being said, if he is operating in an extreme phase of schizophrenic mania, that level of mania is going to burn itself out, probably very soon if not now.
He may be holed up somewhere locked into a very deep sleep or depression, now realizing what he has allowed his impulses to do.I can only hope and pray that he realizes there is no real way out. He can never return to his town or to his family. Might as well give himself up or do himself in. I would be quite surprised if this random bloodbath of killing were to continue at this pace after this week is over.
Here’s to him chewing on his gun barrel, sooner rather than later.

Well, there ya go.
Laundrie committed suicide IIRC...
Yes he did and I’m predicting that they will find Card’s body just the same.

Bucky Phillips NY cop killer evaded capture in NW PA/Allegheny Forest for 5 warmer months maybe 20yrs ago.
I think he was aided by family/sympathizers.
I was surprised that they didn’t catch the Brazilian guy sooner.
I wonder if he knows Raymond Shaw.
Yes, it was the middle one!
