Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) reacted to the Wednesday night attacks in Lewiston, Maine, by pushing an “assault weapons” ban (again).
Police have yet to identify the firearm used in the attacks, although photographs of the person of interest appears to be holding some sort of long gun.
Murphy responded by posting to X, “Another deeply mentally ill man, armed with a military semi-automatic rifle, commits mass murder. This isn’t hard. a. Keep weapons away from potentially dangerous people. b. Don’t let anyone have an assault weapon.”

Maybe your police should have taken his guns LIKE THEY WERE LEGALLY OBLIGED TO. THAT’S WHY YOU HAVE YELLOW AND RED FLAG LAWS, RIGHT?
Beltway joy day.
How about a ban on liberals trying to prevent good people from defending themselves while simultaneously defunding the police?
How about a ban on the FBI?
The POS should tell that to the Jews in Israel.
Like clockwork.
It’s almost as if the liberals order these events online like Instacart sushi.
Yep, that didn’t take long.
The same leftists who say that the ONLY ones who should have guns are cops and the military say nothing about the fact that this guy was military..so the left wants to ban military from having guns
Oh, hey crissee, how about the 100,000 drug ODs? Oh, not a problem like ARs? I see. On that....🖕

Lindsay Graham led a delegation of US Senators....5 Repubs and 5 Dems.... to Israel. Maryland Democrat Ben Cardin, Rhode Island Democratic Jack Reed, Alaska Republican Dan Sullivan, Richard Blumenthal, Democrat of Connecticut, Susan Collins (Maine Republican), Cory Booker (New Jersey Democrat), Katie Britt (Alabama Republican), Chris Coons, Delaware Senator, John Thune, SDakota Senator.
Israeli Opposition Leader Yair Lapid (center) asked for more military aid.
Chris is not concerned about stepping over a few still warm bodies while rushing for the microphone.
Predictable crap. The feds dropped the ball again and it’s always the constitutions fault.
He called out a “militry semi auto rifle”. The military doesn’t use AR platform weapons.
He said “Don’t let people have assault rifles”. Anyone with a full auto rifle goes through months of background ch4ecks. Tell me, congressman, how many background checks did you pass to get elected to congress?
I had an appointment in the local hospital today. Ordinarily I don’t carry in the building. Thinking about the high threat level, I decided...fluck-it, I’m packin’ today. A friend who does not ordinarily think about things like guns had come to visit me in the hospital after hours. He said, roughly, “You know, anyone could walk into this place and spend probably thirty minutes killing people. The place is enormous. There’s no security. And, when they’re done the place is so big, they could likely just stroll out.”
I figure, I’ve trained. I’ve practiced and I probably put more rounds down range in a year than any two average cops. Given what’s going on today, it’s stupid not to carry.
Congressman, did you want to ban jetliners after they caused 3,000 deaths on September 11, 2001? After all, it’s the weapon, not the criminal.
Chris Murphy,,,,knows nothing.
Too bad no one in the bowling alley was armed and able to take this guy out.
Murphy is as evil as it gets—every time there is a mass murder he gets a swagger in his step.
In Maine it is illegal to carry a firearm into a business with a bar. The government saw to it that every person in the two targeted establishments (newest reports say shooter did not attack Walmart processing center) was disarmed. Government failed to act on a known threat. Government is the co-conspirator in this atrocity.
AND make it illegal to commit murder...
