“We can’t put down the phone without picking up the next one,” said a rabbi in Los Angeles who runs a nonprofit that offers firearm training to the Jewish community.
Henya Chein has always been terrified of guns. The Orthodox Jewish artist and mother of two felt uneasy about her husband’s decision to buy a handgun after they moved to Florida from New York last year.
“I would just block it out of my mind that it’s in the house,” Chein, 26, said.
But after watching the events unfold in Israel, she’s taken steps she never imagined herself ever taking. Chein attended a gun safety seminar at her synagogue last week followed by a one-on-one session at a local shooting range.
“Even at the range, I just wanted to drop the gun and run back home,” Chein said. “I was so scared, and I’m terrified of it.”
But she said she felt “forced to do it because Jewish people are not safe anywhere now.”
The deadly terrorist attack in Israel and the torrent of social media threats that followed have forced many American Jews to reconsider their long held stances against owning or using guns.

I’m Jewish, but was raised Lutheran in a Christian family. It was easier for Great Grandpa (who fled Germany due to Jewish persecution) to just change his identity and be done with it. That was in the late 1800’s. It was a pretty common thing for LEGAL immigrants to do.
I own guns. Well, I DID until that tragic boating accident this past Summer. I’ve never voted for a Democrat, either.

That's the wrong attitude. She has taken her first step on the road to waking the hell up. She and others like her, should be encouraged. Once she actually gets to know some of us gun toting, Right leaning, MAGA types she will discover that we're not "scary" or "racist" like the Left tries to portray us. In many respects we hold values that are very similar to those liberals (not leftists) held 15 or so years ago.
The next step is getting Jewish Americans to realize who their real enemies are. Hint, they are overwhelmingly on the Left, not the Right.

They wouldn’t need guns if they’d just stop voting for Dems
People in the U.S. have been spreading hatred for Jews and Israel and support for Palestinian “liberation” since the 1960’s. This outbreak of people marching in the streets shouldn’t surprise anyone. And many Democrats support the marchers.
Jews shouldn’t vote for Democrats. Many Democrats support the Palestinians and do not like Jews.
In my experience, it is indeed the typical liberal anti-gun political stance.

Jews are flock to gun training? Does this mean a change in their desire for gun control? I doubt it.
jews vote for democrats, who then import millions of muslims and then those same jews complain about not being safe.
People are simply stupid.

And armed a few who weren’t… and are now.
The gun grabbers teach fear. Firearm safety education and practice eliminates the fear.
