The state of Arkansas is forcing a Chinese-owned seed producer to sell 160 acres of farmland it owns in the state within the next two years over national security concerns.
Syngenta, the mother company of Northrop King Seed Co. — which also creates crop-protection ingredients — has owned the land in Craighead County for more than 30 years.
But in 2017, it was acquired by China National Chemical Corp. — which is on the US Department of Defense’s list of Chinese military companies that pose a threat to our national security.
“Seeds are technology,” Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at a news conference on Tuesday, claiming countries that are hostile to the United States could use knowledge of American farming practices to their advantage.

Good.
Democrats have been after her for some time over trumped up charges.
Well someone has really been trying to buy up our acreage in Arkansas! I have gotten over a dozen letters wanting to buy 40 abandoned acres we have at Scotland AR. We keep the taxes paid on it.
I agree that foreigners, especially Chinese, should not own land in the US but all they have to do is find someone to sell the land to that will lease it back to them and it’s business as usual.

His amount of acreage, across the country, is something 400sqm. It’s really too small, too be a threat, but he may have been buying land strategically, where he is positioning himself for more land purchases.

Has anyone watched the Peter Schweizer interview on the Shawn Ryan show?
It can be watched on YouTube
Schweizer goes into detail how any company that partners with China, on anything, is required to share their technology.
Amazing how many American’s and American companies are so willing to do just that.
He own over 270,000 acres, or 1/4000th of available farmland in 18 different states.
Yes. 270,000 acres is 421 sq miles.
I can only guess that he is strategically buying because he expect adjacent land to become available.
Yesterday defense briefing. China has been harassing our pilots. Have we done anything diplomatically to stop this? I apologize if on a thread somewhere I missed. It's worrisome. Should it not be?
I read the transcript of the briefing. I’m not familiar with the terminology/abbreviations.
He’s the largest landowner in the US.
My guess is that, with his agenda of artificial meat, he wants to let the land go fallow, price out younger farmers, stop raising beef on that property, force the public into synthetic beef, and force growing of certain GMO crops, of which he’s a shareholder in certain companies.
