If this was real, the real “senior” rino would identify his/herself and speak to Newsmax or OANN.
Nevertheless, what probably is true is that these scumbags are trying to exact promises of riches for their districts and are test Gaetz and Jordan with this stunt.
When the smoke clears we will know who they are and what needs to be done with them.
I am of the opinion that CNN is trying to influence the speakership by telling the GOP RINOs that there is some support for their position.
Ironically, this would tend to absolve Gaetz and the other 7 conservative “disrupters” who blocked McCarthy, since now you have a different handful on the RINO side doing the exact same thing.
By dong this, the RINOs give up any appearance of moral high ground. Who is disrupting now?
Personally, I see every day without a functioning House as a good day - all they do is spend us into oblivion.

Maybe a new house rule, if no speaker chosen in x days, speakership goes to the senior member of the party until such time as a member gets sufficient votes. (And I write this without knowing who the senior member is.)

Those Republicans are part of the uniparty. While we do have a two party system in the US, the two real parties are not Democrat and Republican. Here they are:
(1) Marxist/leftist party that includes all Democrats and about half of Republicans who serve as “loyal opposition”; and
(2) Constitutional/conservative party that includes about the other half of Republicans.
The %s for the Republicans may be a bit off but I suspect it is close.
Gaetz needs to keep his mouth shut now. Anybody he endorses is dead on arrival.

Unfortunately you are correct. Before all of this the republican party was becoming America’s 2024 choice as the Party of National Security. This is quickly widdling away
