The idea that Gaetz’s maneuver would have resulted in somebody substantially more conservative was delusional.
But leftists hate Scalise so much that he might not turn out to be that bad.

Probably a sympathy vote. We needed a pit bull (Jordan) but we got someone who is gravely ill. Only the Republicans could do something like this.
The House is supposed to represent the will of the American people.
Jordan, like Trump, represented the will of the people and the overwhelming voice of republican voters.
Scalise is probably a good guy, but I think he’ll prove to be another Swamp apparatchik.
The money laundering scheme known as “funding for Ukraine” will continue without oversight.
This is a defeat for the American taxpayers.
What a shame.
There are a good number of GOP congressman that are afraid of conservatives. They walk a tightrope trying to conceal it, but every now and then a few expose themselves. Cheney and Kinzinger come to mind. And everyone knows what happened to their political careers.
