The USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group arrives in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea in order to deter any actor seeking to escalate the situation or widen this war. The forces in the area include the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), with its 8 squadrons of attack and support aircraft, and the Ticonderoga class guided missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), as well as the Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyers USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116), USS Ramage (DDG 61), USS Carney (DDG 64), and USS Roosevelt (DDG 80).
Efforts to increase U.S. posture continue, including the rapid movement into theater of U.S. Air Force F-15s, F-16s and A-10s to augment existing fighter squadrons in the region.
"The arrival of these highly capable forces to the region is a strong signal of deterrence should any actor hostile to Israel consider trying to take advantage of this situation," said General Michael "Erik" Kurilla, commander, U.S. Central Command.
Syria just started lobbing rockets into the golden heights. This is starting to spiral…….
Nothing like providing targets.
Golan heights. Sorry.
Hope it doesn’t fall down stairs.
I wonder if the Ford got their magnetic catapult to launch birds without scrambling their avionics?
"They" hate the A-10 ... until the stuff hits the fan.
Is the Ford using those electronic catapults or still the old steam ones?
I believe this is also beneficial to the US, this will give them an almost permanent presence in the Eastern Mediterranean, especially considering Russia will have a major base in Libya.
Best way to stop a war is make sure it doesn’t start.
The Biden regime did something smart for once. Do not base anyone on land. Remember Beirut in 1983 and the Khobar Towers bombing in 1996. Lot hard to hit a hard target like a carrier group.

Prolly diverted the money to DEI.
Golan Heights, not golden heights.
Combination of both. I was a ABH and steam cats doesn’t require as much maintenance as EMLs cats
USS FORD is deployed (obviously) in active service, using EMALS. Whether it’s working properly or not depends on whether you’re talking to people who are personally invested in its failure or personally invested in its success. We’ve seen that problem repeatedly for decades regarding new military technology. USS FORD’s current deployment will provide real data.
It took a second...
Yep ... the BS from leftist Big Media and leftist Big Entertainment never dies. Propaganda is very effective.
Right. I’m glad to see the A-10’s there!
My fault for trying to post on my iPhone.
Ha! I’ve not been paying attention. I was not aware that the USN was using a railgun to launch aircraft. That would generate a significant localized EMP.
Sending them in to defend hamas, hezboola, and Syria and lebanon.
