Ha! I’ve not been paying attention. I was not aware that the USN was using a railgun to launch aircraft. That would generate a significant localized EMP.
It’s not a railgun, it’s a linear induction motor. Big difference. In early testing, it was producing a rapidly changing magnetic field that was causing trouble with F-18 electronics. It’s supposedly fixed. USS FORD’s current deployment (her first) will tell the tale.
