White House Pummeled For Hosting BBQ Party As War Erupts In Israel

The White House is being pummeled for hosting a barbeque on Sunday afternoon while war erupts in Israel.

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden hosted a barbeque for White House Executive Residence staff and their families around the Rose Garden, according to a White House pool report. Biden’s decision to hold the event was blasted by congressmen and conservative media figures as war broke out in Israel and United States citizens were confirmed to be among those dead following Hamas’ attack.

“While Hamas holds Americans hostage, Joe Biden is enjoying a picnic with a live band,” Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley tweeted Sunday, referring to the White House pool report.

Responding to a screenshot of the president leaving his remarks on the war in Israel without taking any questions, Stephen Miller, contributing editor for the Spectator, tweeted that he had “never seen anything like this.”

“This is fucking infuriating,” Miller tweeted Sunday. “Americans are dead and being held hostage. Biden went to a BBQ and Blinken is begging Turkey to tell Israel to stand down.”

Hamas terrorists entered southern Israel on Saturday, taking hostage Israeli civilians while brutally killing others, according to the New York Times. The terrorist organization initially launched more than 2,200 rockets in the first few hours of its attack.

The current death toll is expected to rise as at least 700 Israelis have died and thousands are wounded, ABC News reported. At least nine American citizens have been killed in the Hamas attack, according to CNN.

The president gave a brief address Saturday condemning the Hamas attacks and adding that the Biden administration’s support is “rock solid and unwavering.”

“While countless Americans are being held hostage in Gaza, with attacks on civilians in Israel ongoing, President Biden is hosting a BBQ,” Katie Pavlich, editor of Townhall, tweeted with a screenshot of the White House pool report.

At the direction of Biden, the Pentagon announced Sunday that it would be sending its largest aircraft carrier to the Eastern Mediterranean to back Israel through its war with Hamas. The Pentagon will also begin transferring security assistance, such as ammunition, to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
