Whenever I go to the stores I leave depressed at the invasion happening right in front of us. Barely anyone speaks English anymore, immigrant families and groups of military age men, we're being rapidly replaced. It is one thing, and very, very disturbing to see the mass continuous invasion at the border, but we can also see it in our own towns and communities. It is real.
It all started with Reagan signing Simpson-Mazzoli, giving amnesty. That opened the floodgates. The government and media touted 11-12 million illegals as a stock constant number for decades. Obviously that number increased since more were lured and entering the US. In 2018 a Yale and MIT study pegged the number at 22 million, others say 30-60 million. With Biden the numbers are increasing at around 250 thousand PER MONTH. And that is the ones the government has contact with. Is that half or a quarter of the illegal crossings?
And the government buries the data. How many get immediate or within six months or a year a work permit? Without work, they can't survive for long.
I think a first step is a changing the mindset of allowing entry and increasingly long time in the future decision and court dates. It should be a no-go or rather no-stay. If we cannot hold the hearing within 90 days, then the person should return to the crossing country or their home country to wait for a decision or hearing. NEVER LET THEM IN while they wait. Anyone that does have bona fide claim of asylum should be issued ankle monitor and be trackable 24x7, else immediate deportation.
I think much of the lure and much of the enforcement can come from remove access to drive and work. Focus on those two and short of charity, illegal aliens will have no where to go except leave the US.
Okay, the reality check. Do we, as a nation, as a people, have the courage and strength to say enough is enough, that this is still our country and to clear out illegals? That math is daunting. To remove even one million in one year is 2,739 per day, 10 million is 27,397 per day. If the count is 60 million, that's 164,383 per day over a year. What about a four year commitment, 2024-2028, to remove 60 million illegals from the US? That is still 41,095 per LEAVING the US each day over four years.
I'm happy with any of those timetables but fear we as a nation an people don't don't have the veracity to start it, do it, and complete it.
And that is depressing. As otherwise, the US is doomed, it will cease to exist as it once was and tries to cling to. Multiculturalism and diversity are destroying us, the invasion is the sledgehammer to finish the job.
Because Reagan was influenced by Deep State to support and sign the bill, there were several parts of it NEVER attempted or badly executed to try and control further illegal entry:
1) Requiring employers to stipulate that their employees had legal immigration status,
2) Making it illegal for an employer to knowingly hire an illegal immigrant,
3) Creating a guest worker plan for certain seasonal agricultural workers, and
4) Increasing enforcement personnel on the U.S. borders.
Legalizing the illegal immigrants who entered the country before Jan. 1, 1982 and had been U.S. residents continuously since then, in exchange for back taxes, fines and admission of entering the country illegally.
No follow up, no control, and those provisions that were addressed were given Deep State lip service and then business as usual.
To start off with Reagan to blame and then hustle on off to Trump’s Fault is pretty duplicitous in my book. Trump, Covid, blah, blah.....just an excuse for whatever reason one wants to try and foist this off on real conservatives.
In just the 2-3 years of that puke Biden we’ve seen a cataclysmic destruction of our border control system. Our border is just a line on a damned map, and Reagan and Trump DID NOT DO THAT!
When I was a kid there were commercials on TV telling “resident aliens” to register once a year.
It would be an entire cottage industry to have them all register annually.
I am not against immigrants, per se. I just want there to be legal means of immigration..and I don’t want to pay for them to be here. Let them come legally, let them work, and let them pay taxes. And no…they don’t get to vote until they get citizenship. And any ID they are issued is clear enough that they cannot use it to register to vote.
There are ways to do this whole immigration thing. But it keeps us divided so the idiots in Congress won’t do anything.
There is a simple solution that will end illegal immigration in days: Anyone employing an illegal worker gets jail time.
The problem is no politician not DeSantis not Trump actually wants to prevent our farms and factories from employing illegals.
Hispanic families are more Christian than most white families. They may not meet your definition of Christian…but they are.
“ There are economic means to effect that.”
I used to believe that, but not any longer. There are about 25 million illegals here, many of them military-aged males. All they have to do is just refuse to go. There are enough of them that they can set up a parallel economy. If push comes to shove, that’s potentially a very big army.
I see the US having mere nominal control over parts of our territory.
Then you get into the whole business of how American workers won’t do certain jobs, such as farm work ,and being maids in hotels, and other such industries that are dominated by foreign-born people
Nope.
Even if you guard the border and shoot everyone coming in, it’d take a cooperative government to identify who already here is illegal vs legal.
Seasonal worker visas make sense but should require paying US wages and benefits transparently not lower rates off-the-books. Beyond that and we get more fraud like H1B.
Can we stop the Invasion? Yes, but do we have the will? That is a very different question. We lost the will when we embraced the “Victim” culture (All Victims are good and MUST be rewarded). The people have a super weapon they can us to stop us every time. the word “racist,” use the magic word and all attempts fail. To stop the invasion we must change our ways and become more Nazi like. We must be ready to enforce draconian laws to the max. How many MS-13 murderers have we hung? We have only two choices-—Go all hardnosed fascist and start killing folks and putting invaders into slave camps or Turn all Marxist (Not like China—but like Stalin) and enforce the will with an Alaskan Gulag—all the rich to be shot or sent to the camps, as “enemies of the state.” We have let tiny special interest groups rule us and we see the results.
the cheap labor express apologists have emerged.
“we need maids and people to pick the crops”
Oh, just how did our nation ever survive before the borders were flung open?
The crops just rotted on the vine and there were no hotels.
“Not as long as FJB and his Dung Beetle Pahtay is runnin’ this chicken coop.”
****
It’s been going on for a long time. The drugs, too. If either party wanted to have stopped it, they could have.
It all comes down to cheap slave labor and money.
Money wins every time.
********
Pretty much the bottom line and the truth. History
gives a good indication of LABOR - MONEY aspect. Take
a few moments and look back to the time Columbus sailed
the ocean blue in 1492 and where we are today. How did
this all occur and who had the responsibility over the
years. MONEY and CHEAP LABOR....
Now with mechanization human labor isn’t driving force.
“What is the end game for the liberals?”
POWER........
Can I get a discount at a hotel if I agree to change and make the bed, vacuum, and clean before leaving so that the hotel doesn’t need to employ illegal aliens? Maybe 50% discount?
Trump can and will stop the invasion.
Now with mechanization human labor isn’t driving force.
******
Should be:
Now with mechanization/computerization human labor
isn’t the driving force anymore.
for starters, if we closed the borders including ‘legal’ immigration and took a moratorium on it... we wouldn’t have to worry about catching bed bugs on our hotel stay
“DeSantis recently signed eVerify”
His law exempted agriculture, which is where 90% of illegals are employed. It’s a gif leaf to try and get the ill-informed to think he cares about the issue.
Hey, maybe we get a new label started “American Grown, American Picked.”
“Oh, just how did our nation ever survive before the borders were flung open?”
Things have changed. We have 55 million seniors in America still eating crops and staying at hotels but not doing much labor.
We do need to supplement our workforce with foreign labor, but that needs to be controlled legal immigration and work programs.
