Gas prices in California have had a history of being higher than in many other areas of the US, but recently they have risen to well over $6 and even $7 a gallon in some parts.
This far exceeds the current national average of $3.96, per Y-Charts.
The gas price hike has caused many California residents to make hard choices, sometimes having to choose between filling up their tank or buying lunch.
San Diego residents at a local 7-Eleven spoke to FOX News Digital about how rising gas prices, have been affecting their lives.
“Filling this thing up, [it’s] like $130,” said one resident, who explained his full gas typically only lasts him about a week. Another resident, who explained how gas for the roofing company trucks is a “lot of money,” described how he pays between $100-$150 to fill up his gas tank.

Voter harder people! Or maybe more! One extra vote for the “D”’s and they will magically fix all your problems. Vote “D”! That will do it!
CA gets what it votes for.
“Idiots don’t realize they are being bled.”
California pumps out the highest state gas tax rate of 77.9 cents per gallon (cpg), followed by Illinois (66.5 cpg) and Pennsylvania (62.2 cpg). The lowest state gas tax rates can be found in Alaska at 9.0 cents per gallon, followed by Missouri (17.5 cpg) and Mississippi (18.4 cpg). This includes the federal excise tax of 18.4 cents per gallon.
But there’s more:
In addition to the taxes described above, the state levies a fee of 2 cents per gallon on owners of underground storage tanks that contain petroleum. The state also has other programs and regulations that affect gasoline prices. For instance, the state’s cap-and-trade program affects gasoline prices because it requires fuel suppliers to purchase permits that cover the greenhouse gases emitted when the fuel is burned. It is estimated that this currently adds 21 cents per gallon to the price of gasoline. The state also has a low carbon fuel standard program that requires suppliers of high carbon fuels (such as gasoline) to purchase credits from suppliers of low carbon fuels (such as renewable diesel). It is estimated that this currently adds 12 cents per gallon to gasoline prices.
Also, the gas didn’t get there through immaculate arrival. The truckers, the pipelines, and the people that package the products like oil and transmission or steering fluids are highly taxed besides sales taxes they have to pay to get licenses for also and they have to add this to the price of their product to cover costs. And the state taxes have been going up annually while the federal excise tax rate established in the early 1990’s has remained at 18.4 cents.
They know it. They are just too stupid to realize they are the cause of it by voting in these blood sucking parasites. And is always the case, until it hits them hard enough to do something about it, they will just bitch and moan and belly up to the bar to pay it.

I got the grandson a happy meal and myself a large fries at McDonald’s the other day. Came to $11.72.
My fries alone were $4.59 before tax, so about $4.82 total. Almost $5 for McDonald’s fries. This was in a small town in western Wisconsin. My jaw dropped when I saw the price pop up on the board.
cheapest in Oceanside (SD county) this morning 6.19
Not only do WE vote for the same filth WE voted to not cut gas taxes.
cacklethon
don’t know why but SD and SF usually have the highest CAL gas prices, except remote stations like on the way to Vegas.
Ain’t Global Warming wonderful.
I paid 5.49 at Costco. I did not vote for this and I do remind people of “Bidenomics.”
You must not have crossed into Arizona lately
Don't forget all the oil used for Newsome's hair.
last weekend $3.70 at Thylpo? and $3.71 at AMPM across the street, I had to fill my truck. I go to the river every other weekend, I have a house there. As a comfort I am only paying $6.54 for gas in my airplane, which is how I go back and forth.
If I may -
California has considerable crude oil reserves which have been intentionally made inaccessible and unaffordable...
.... In the mean time the lines at COSTCO Gas keep getting longer and longer .....
.
Embrace the suck, beeyotches.
So now Californians are paying about the same as they do in UK for gasoline.
“And they will vote for the same filth again, and again...”
This next election I think some will hold their nose and say “I’m gonna vote for the anti-Biden, whoever that is, just this once.”
Here, let me caption that.
She don’t spit.
I just got a bj from you know who.
She has the whitest teeth I’ve ever cone across.
My mom, who lived in San Diego County was always amazed at gas prices were so much lower here in MO in in SD. “Where are all the oil wells and refineries in Missouri?”, she’d ask.
